Elder Scrolls Online News - Put On Your Dancin' Shoes! ESO Is Turning Two!

From April 4th through April 10th, Elder Scrolls Online players will have an opportunity to participate in the game's second anniversary. Developers have lots of cool things for players to take part in including a voucher for a cake from the Crown Store that will kick off the Ache for Cake quest. The reward? A Jubilee Cake to take a proud slot in the Mementos collection and that will provide a 100% XP buff that stacks with others.

    I wonder if there's a cap on xp bonuses?

    LOL I will login to get it then log out and not give them what they want (money) until they fix major issues with the game.

    Million Dollar contest
    Now cakes 100% XP

    It is cool they are at least celebrating it this year unlike last years. Just can't support the game till major issues are fixed. 

    I do like how they talk on ESO LIVE, fixes are coming but we all know that means "We are working on another DLC to get your money."

    I quit playing because the last patch completely killed the game's performance.

    GTX760 before patch ran the game fine, only got choppy in cities. GTX970 after the patch runs choppy everywhere unless I turn the view distance down to about 30-40. Needless to say, that makes almost no sense whatsoever.

    I'll log in and get the cake though.

    That's strange I have a 970 with max view distance and its never choppy.. not sure what that could be. :/

    I run the game on a gtx670 without an issue.

    Does anyone know if the cake is a lie?

    Same but it actually happened to me with a previous patch. I uninstalled because of performance.

    This game has really turned into quite a nice mmorpg. It has become my go to mmorpg.

    I think you may miss the point. At least for me you do. It isn't about the XP, I could play the game with no sub and bonuses with no problem and love it. Problem is how I and a lot of us have been treated by the leaders/developers of the game. They made us and myself feel like they could care a shit about us. 

    Watching ESO Live is hard because it is like they are laughing at us and all we hear is "soon" and then they go off on the next crown store bullshit. Then you watch the next show and it's the same BS, "soon". Oh and then they laugh after saying it. That really does get to me after how much I have spent on the game. 

    Unless they change more and more people will end up leaving. Then game closed.

    I love Eso is my new "home" game is getting better and better.

    Currently playing: Elder Scrolls Online

    Glad they are honoring the anniversary this year, but I have left ESO on the shelf for now. Too many promises with only abandoned features being the product right now. The game is definitely better than what it launched as, but it is hard to not get better than that. Possibly if they ever get performance and PvP worked out I may jump into it more often.... right now BDO has me hooked!

    2-3 of my friends use Linux, (i think 1 of them use both win and linux) so after last DLC we stopped playing ESO. Eventually we may be back, if openGL support for windows gets back, or when wine figures out the kinks of directx11.

    It's not a big deal, there are other mmo's. But i quite liked playing ESO with my friends.

    I don't want to be rude, but if you're either gaming on Linux or your graphics card doesn't support DX11 in 2016, you're doing it very wrong. You might as well switch to consoles in that case.

    Maybe so,  but before thieves they had no problems running ESO on their Linux machines,  now they cant.  Linux use openGL so it has no directx directory.  No matter if their graficscard are up to date ESO is basicly telling their customers to use windows or go away. (i know,  there's a mac client aswell)

    And no,  openGL isn't worse than directx,  it's just different.  I'm not asking for directx9 or 10 to come back,  i just dont understand why openGL support had to be removed for windows when it's still there for mac.

    I know Linus is used by very few people,  i wouldn't use it,  but when you have customers using Linux,  as i'm sure they must have known, it just seems like a bad idea to make a DLC that removes the option for openGL. At least an explanation on why it had to be done would have been nice.

    That really shocks me, there is no reason for them to take it out. Just makes my argument about needing to change people from the top down. For a company to sit there and decide to just say screw all of you that gave us money. I understand they have the right by their TOS to do it, but that does not make it a good business decision.

    It's not one or the other. They have to do both. For me I need fixes and a lot of new skills along with arena. Skills are my content and I played them all for all they are worth. #needmore

    It's not one or the other. They have to do both. For me I need fixes and a lot of new skills along with arena. Skills are my content and I played them all for all they are worth. #needmore
    I do think if they had someone at the top that would start realizing if they make fixes the priority for the next month or two it could actually help the game in the long run. Players would come back in troves if they could really fix the major problems. They need to rebuild the customers trust and they aren't doing that.

    This means my procrastination of trying this game out is also turning 2. Far from a record. 

    EQ1, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, GW, GW2 CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War,TSW and a slew of free trials and beta tests

    The game is beautiful and it has that role play feeling, the quests I admit are interesting and majority are well done. But if you love pvp then forget it until they get it fixed but after 2 years I just don't think they know how. Plus now the pve is even having those issues with lag and the normal bugs that have been around from beta. I so want them to fix the game so I can return and play.
