imageGDC 2016 - Shooter & Survival Fans Rejoice

Russia has been a hot bed for video games lately and more titles are coming out that really impress us. Escape from Tarkov bring some new elements to the survival sandbox shooter and has a lot of side systems to really bring players into the fold. If you like trying to fight over bleak landscapes full of factories and fog you will feel right at home with this game. If you like guns you will love Tarkov.

    Looks pretty cool, the founder packs like a bit overpriced.

    Unfortunately "survival sandbox shooter" is pretty much synonymous with griefing, but this looks cool if it's done well.

    The actual systems seem awesome. I am just not a fan of guns, war, industry, russia, modern day setting. So unfortunately I will pass.

    No he was right the first time Russians seem to all be cheats I'm sure they not but a huge segments are.

    Russian guild is still the only one I have ever known to be banned for cheating, not some of them the entire guild! (from AoC) Then saw the same scum cheating again in DC Universe.

    And this write up was written by a Russian, poor editing, but guess he spends most his time working on hacks so......


    Added: So no I will not be getting this game.

    I heard of two guilds that were banned for cheating once in L2. One guild started cheating, another guild complained about it and received no response so they stated cheating also. Both guilds got banned.

    I was all for this, then saw it was being developed by Russians, so I'll take a pass on this, as it will end up hacked to death with cheats.

    So according to your post its OK when everyone else that is not Russian hacks but if its Russian its all doomed?

    The number of non Russian hackers in western games is outrageous but you prefer to blame only Russians. Good job

    Enough with the sandbox nonsense!  This is a shooter, pure and simple with a few sandbox elements.

    If you can't grasp what a sandbox is, then don't use the term!  So tired of clueless writers.

    Yes sadly the developer is not speaking up for itself but choosing to pay websites to advertise their product.
    FPS NEED to communicate with the gamer's because as mentioned by many,anti hacks/cheats are so important to keep the games integrity.

    We simply do not see ANYONE out there doing a good job with cheating,so it really ruins the whole fps genre.We need Microsoft or someone to start building some kind of infrastructure that eliminates cheating.Problem is the more you check on the clients the more lag it causes.
    We need a system where by clients are banned from servers when caught cheating.

    Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
