Ignoring systems, that works out to $47/game... most of which are surely worthless. It's like a complete baseball card set; only 20% of them have any actual value.

Wow, and I though I was bad with my one large bookcase of games.  Nice collection, much luck in selling it.  You could always donate it to a gaming museum.  It's amazing some collections people have.  One guy did his whole basement up as an arcade and it was great.  Neat and methodical, remind me to stay on your good side.  :-)

LOL bet most of them came out of the $15 clearance bins.

The enjoyment of collecting is in the process.  If the process consists of paying someone 150 grand, then the enjoyment will be really short lived.

Douchebag alert.  Sorry, but you don't get to sell your retro games based on their personal sentimental value.  If he's serious about selling it, he'll cut the price to $50,000.
Exactly what I was going to say minus the douchebag. :+1:

Here's to hoping for his sake that he finds someone with a really bad case of nostalgia, and some deeeeep pockets! xD

Only way he'll ever sell that useless junk.

no idea what such old games realy sell for,  but to me it sounds expensive.  Even an average of 10$ pr. game sounds overly expensive to me,  and you're asking for close to 5 times that.

I dont know if some of the old and rare games are expensive collectibles, if that's the case then i guess maybe it's worth the price,  but i suspect this isn't the forum to try and sell old rare expensive and collectible games.

nice try to make a nerdlife useful.
as if it would be so easy *G*

selling old stuff never brings the cash you want, especially if it's not worth anything (like gold, art or whatnot)

people who play games, got their games, and surely won't pay 150 grand for old games.
maybe if he finds some excentric old crazy man who loves spending his money on stuff he doesn't need.... well, gl for him :>

I've seen collections like these that are worth upwards of his asking price. Skimming over the details, though, I don't think this particular one is a good investment.

Many years ago I hired a coworker to list a bunch of stuff I had on ebay.  It was a hobby for my coworker and her mom and we agreed to split the proceeds.  They were the ebay masters.  Frankly I was ready to toss everything in the trash.    I had never thrown away a large number of old games, some with the goodies that came in the packages like cloth maps, ads, etc.  I was shocked when we made close to $3k total in sales, much of that from the old games.   She sold many of them to collectors overseas who loved that all the boxes contained all the original papers and everything was in pristine condition.   I was certainly happy from the outcome of our sales!

The potential for selling these games is there but today you can download alot of them of sites like GOG and Steam......Now if its for more than the games themselves then thats a different ballgame.
