Well, at least i cought it on time and didnt try either of new ones (as they didnt bring any performance gains anyway), 362.00 is now last "official" driver
That's the reason I usually wait to install updates, this even happens with Windows updates from time to time.

I almost never update drivers, the drivers that are certified by MS are the most stable.
Downloading drivers prior to MS WHQL certification is one of the dumbest things you can do and the easiest way to turn a stable system into a completely unstable one.
I have read far too many of these type of threads:
"Please help, my X and Y doesn't work on my PC"
Random internet person who has no idea what the actual problem or solution is: Did you try updating your drivers?
"I downloaded the latest drivers, but now Z broke too"
WHQL means absolutely nothing except they paid MS for certification. AMD used to have monthly WHQL driver updates not so long ago when they figured out how pointless it is.
364.51 was FIX to broken 364.47 WHQL drivers, and then 364.51 needed a hotfix too.
The funniest thing is performance vise they brought no improvement in either AotS or The Division. So no point in installing them as it seems those are just rebranded 362.00 anyway.
yep can confirm the drivers are bad news i didnt know untill too late, was in a loop for 10 minutes untill i shut down and booted up safe mode and uninstalled drivers.nvidia drivers imo have been getting steadily worse since there introduced games specific drivers.
Zero problems with latest drivers. Never had an issue with any Nvidia drivers. Lucky? Maybe. Keep my computer clean and free of useless clutterware and not use it as a Facebook/Instragram/big phone? You betcha!

Exactly the same with AMD driver here at home, and nVidia drivers at work.
Looks like you have almost the exact same setup as I do minus the GPU (970 here), different brand of memory sticks (ADATA) and different mobo brand (ASUS).

no problems if you don't install bullshit on your computer.
Bingo!
BTW I have stayed away from AMD products because of the bad rap their drivers have had over the years. You are saying those have been corrected? I would like to hear from you and others about that.

"it seems the fears of “PC damage” from user reports are stemming mainly from software installation failure and some reports of potential cases of corrupted driver installations which led to system restart loops and other issues. However, it is highly unlikely that any actual hardware component harm has resulted from this"
Yeah - the title is misleading
I dono though, restart loops would ruin it for some people, they wouldn't be able to figure out how to get their computer to start lol.
They should do what AMD did, and put a bios switch in the card, shame on you Nvidia.
Nah, for 20 years i had ATI more than NVidia and both are same with drivers (though i have had more trouble from NVidias drivers)
I would say 95+% of people dont even have a clue what "NVidia has better drivers" is really about.
And yes, breaking your WIn install is damage to the computer, my friend was making kick ass income by just reinstalling crap on computers (Windows/Office and such crap). Same number of people have also not heard about "safe mode" or "DDU" so if something like this happens they have to pay someone to fix it. With brand name computers they might not even be in position to fix it themselves.
What does piss me off a bit is releasing drivers just for releasing drivers with no change to performance whatsoever (driver even broke some older games like CoD where it introduced corrpution to lightning effects)
I had UI overlay problems with AMD late last year. It was fixed in 16.1. Basically, things like quest markers in Fallout 4, and the map in Grand Theft Auto 5 had overlay issues. It forced me to play immersively because I couldn't see the compass.
Comments
Always makes me want to go back to those old posts where people always claim AMD drivers are shit, and just say "What about now, eh?"
