Shadowbane Free!!!

Many members of the Shadowbane Community have already noticed that a change has occured to the Billing System today; one that allows players to play for free!
There will be a more in-depth announcement coming soon but, in the meanwhile, I wanted to let our community know that this is not an error. Existing users can now open up their Account Manager and their accounts will now be working, allowing them to play Shadowbane for free! This does include those who had previously canceled accounts!
In addition, those who wish to try out Shadowbane for the first time will also be able to. All you have to do is create a new ubi.com account and then click on Add a Subscription, and you will have free access to the lands of Aerynth! This is not a Free-Trial subscription and it will not run out in 15-days. This is completely free!
If you are looking for a place to download the Shadowbane client, you can get it from FilePlanet by clicking here for the PC version, and here for the Mac version! While these version are labeled for the "Free Trial", they are full versions of the game client and any active accounts can be used to play using them.
No longer will players, existing and new alike, be charged to adventure in the lands of Aerynth! If you happen to be a new player or have not adventured in Shadowbane for many an age, makes sure you check out the Getting Started guide. You can also view the Shadowbane Version and Patch History to see what has changed over the last few years.

Can't beat FREE.
OK I am going to bite, because *free* is *free* - however since Ubisoft said "details to follow" I assume this is a gimmik to get people in and then they try to charge for something. Lets just call this a temporary install for now.
Ya, my guess is that it will be free for say........ a month or so, just to try to get as many people as possible to try it out. And then they will begin charging again.
Actually, I think its other reasons.
Unreal 3 engine comes to mind..
The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.
As long as they don't make the same mistakes again...

but, they will sell ingame items in the future,IMO!
I think SB is free forever from now on. Why? Ubisoft doesn't need the money quite frankly, and what better way to test new concepts and features for future games than to offer a live experiment. SB 2 is coming, Ashen smirks and blushes when asked about it, like a kid trying to keep a secret. Making SB free is mass advertisement for SB2 and the best possible way to plan for the next gen MMORPGs. It is, in my opinion, a brilliant move with uplifting new hope.
PS - Shadowbane rocks, if you haven't tried it, you really need to! (find a guild tho, it sucks solo, lol)

the only place u can download it from is fileplanet and u have to pay to use that i think if u have any more linkes or something post them

shadowbane is an amazing game at points but weak at others, (going to play again with my accuont :-) ) for instance there isn't a whole lot of PVE but the pvp makes up for it ten fold, and the amount of orignal races in this mmo, and you can fly. that on itself is pretty original

They don't do squat with it. I've used fileplanet for years. I don't even get junk mail because of them... Get TONS from having 3 kids... I Swear I Get more mails asking us to try this or that baby product than I can throw a stick at... but nothing about gaming
