So? The only question matter to me is whether it is fun, subjective to me.
Do you have a point? You're stating the obvious. What is fun is subjective to everyone. His comment wasn't whether this game is fun to you. He was making an observation.
Yes. He states in a way as if whether a game is made with passion has something to do with if the game is going to be good or not.
I just want to make clear that it should be all about the fun.
And it is fair game to discuss how I evaluate games since most are expressing personal opinions anyway.
I actually like playing on the newbie isle where it's mainly just killing and exploring. Major turn-off once I left and reached the first town. NPCs with quests and turn-ins for favor at every corners and every buildings in there. It's basically the same as a theme park with quests everywhere, but instead of doing them for experience, it's to do them for factions grind.

i get what you mean, but to be fair - you COULD just go around killing everything in sight. hunting alone could take you a long way if you wish to, although youll miss a great deal of skills and some information (which you might find on your own investigating)
To me the biggest turn off about the game was being turned into different animals......I didnt like finding gear for cow form and really lost interest in the game once I got turned into an animal...Just not immersive, at least for me
It's a good game so far. My only worry is that only two people work on the game and progress is really slow. That's a recipe for people losing interest over time.

All he said was "Game is made with passion". That doesn't make sense to reply with what you did. Everyone wants a game to be fun. You are correct it is subjective. A game that is made without passion usually ends up being not really that fun, simply because the developers don't really have any emotional investment into what they are making just doing it to get money. I think he is right, they are developing it with a passion for what they are making. It's great. I played the game, and thought it was very fun, my personal opinion. Go try it yourself before tearing people down for making a personal observation.
This game is awesome! It is basically AC1 repackaged and not done by Turdbine. It needs a lot of work in it's current state but I see this becoming an excellent game when it reaches -beta status.
I don't see why this game is all the rage right now because I tried it and it really isn't anything special at all.
First off just to run this game you need a 64 bit Operating system because the client is so horribly unoptomized that you need over 1 Gig of ram just to run their crappy client therefore limiting the number of people who can play this game.
So I did have a chance to try this game, this game is built off of the Unity Engine. The graphics on this game are old and outdated and the developer should have selected a way better engine to build this game off of. The developer has made a gross error right from the start with the selection of the unity engine.
Once you get into the game itself the user interface itself is horribly clunky and you can't reposition a lot of the bars in this game.
The camera movement is horrible on this game the camera will just swing backwards sometimes on you when you are in a dungeon and the camera doesn't properly follow your character. The whole way the camera follows your character in this game is horribly done.
The game at points is very laggy as well and I believe that a lot of the time the server which is running this game can't handle the load it is being put under.
Soon as they put this game on Steam as well it is just going to get worse.
So lets move onto the people that are playing this game over all a lot of the people who are playing this game are just eltist jerks who won't help new players and are extremely unfriendly and rude. I found that it is best to keep off of the Global channel and avoid these people all together.
so what do you do in this game? Basically the answer to that is grind. You are either grinding favor with certain NPCs or grinding for councils which is the money on Project Gorgon. Or grinding up skills.
This game is extremely grindy and lacks a lot of other things to do that don't require grinding. The game gets very repetitious and borning very fast with all the grinding which you have to do.
A lot of the time in dungeons as well on this game the monsters respawn way too fast and can call other monsters who are in other rooms and calls them though the walls once again this just shows how buggy and poorly designed that this game is.
Also when you first start this game they have set this game up in such a way that the NPC merchants in town only have a limited amount of money so it limits the amount of money you can make because when you sell them something the total is deducted from the amount of money available from that NPC and the only way to make it so that NPC has more money available is to grind favor with that NPC to get to the next higher favor level. Which makes making councils in this game a real pain.
Skills in this game are quite broken right now as well such as Necromancy and a lot of the animal skills as well.
The game also seems to lack any kind of PVP as well with only one dungeon area where you can PVP. There is no open world PVP in this game.
Even for this game being Alpha it is poorly designed and being poorly developed and it isn't really worth your time.
I agree with thereporter1000's assessment of using the Unity engine, its really a glorified hobbyist or poor mans game engine, but that's another discussion entirely.
All the other things he listed can and will eventually be improved, removed, changed, etc. since its still early in development. Its not a bad game at all and Im ooking forward to playing when its actually finished.

I was getting really interested until I ran into this post......The animal thing turns me off.

I absolutely agree and it was the bit "turn off" that made me not want to play. Not so much being cursed but that one can go around in cow form and continue to play the game.
To me it's just another example how developers do good work but decide to gunk it up because they can. I suppose they can as it's their game but that means I just don't play it.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

To each his own I guess. I personally love this quirky fantasy world Eric's made. It kind of reminds me of Piers Anthony's books for the world of Xanth.
Interesting enough I hated those books.

It's a curse or you go out of your way to get turned into said animal either way it's easy to avoid and easy to fix. Although there are quite a few people that love playing the game as a cow, wolf, giant spider and what have you. Just make sure you can kill a boss before engaging it whether on your own or in a group.
Ok, I'll give it a go after I play Warhammer for a few more days
