I’ll freely admit that the phrase "It’s been a long time coming" is overused. However; I find it hard to argue that isn’t the case with last week’s information dump surrounding Final Fantasy XV. For the longest time I would have bet that this was the Final Fantasy that would never see the light of day, especially after the disaster that was Final Fantasy XIV 1.0. That said this looks to be one of the strongest entries so far. Let’s recap the items that Square Enix uncovered.

That will be my judge on whether or not I buy this game - the combat.
I'm not the biggest fan of active combat like this in an RPG, but we'll see!
Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile
You mean penultimate. There was a FFVII movie called Advent Children.
1) Action Combat - I'll need to see more, but it just looks shockingly bad so far.
2) Androgynous Men - Its really hard to connect with such girly boy-men. When your character looks like he spends more time on his hair than he does on weapons/armour.
The demo certainly looks shiny, but it seems to run about 20fps (on PS4) and the combat is, well, terrible. If they really had to do action combat they could have just copied kingdom hearts, instead they had to simplify it, make it unresponsive, and add in a bunch unless 'flash', quick time events, and warping around.
If SE wanted to kill FF they couldn't be doing a better job of it. While I certainly hope it doesn't bankrupt the company (I'm still a fan of most of what SE do), I do kinda hope that FFXV fails to make it's money back; maybe then we can finally get another single player FF game worthy of the name.
