casual gamers

OK, casual gamers have no chance to compete with hardcore gamers.  They might start to quit eventually.  Well, WOW just need servers dedicated entirely for casual gamers if Blizz wants to keep its casual gamer customers.  They could add a server where no epic is allowed or at least easily obtainable without 40 man raids. They could also allow players from different servers to transfer to this casual game server for a small fee.  You see, Blizz, isn't this some easy money you can make???

While I doubt that this will occur Paravion, I do hope Blizzard continues to implement more 5 or 10 player instances.

As of Patch 1.10 the Instances Scholomance, Stratholme and Blackrockdepths will be 5 Man Instances, as well as Upper and Lower Blackrockspire will be 10 Man Instances. All these with allegedly better drops and slightly less Encounters.

How can a casual player be "shut out"?

I'm a casual player and have missed out on nothing. Guess it is how you measure your e-peen.

  • Shayde, if you went on all of the 40 man raids and outer dragon raids and stuff then you have the right to say you missed out on nothing, otherwise, you've missed out on A PILE of things, but the OP is right, they need to make servers where 40 man raids and 25 man raids never accure, and only world epics are allowed + PVP epics, with limitless PVP high ranks.

Most of us casual gamers don't tend to lust after the Epic gear and quit when we can't get it.  That is part of what makes us "casual".  I don't see it being a real problem.

I have never been on a 40 man raid but don't feel I have missed out on anything.  That is not my idea of fun and it's not why I play the game.  I may try one some day, but if it is to much work and takes uber gear then I won't bother.

You guys really are morons.  I honestly cant decide if i find the casual gamer whiney baby more annoying than the hardcore whiney baby, but either way, today, u take the cake.  Why is it that you think blizzard owes you the server of your personal dreams??  Because you pay 14.95 a month? BFD.  You probably spend more on toilet paper a month but you don't troll the Charmin Forums asking to be given your own special Star Wars Toilet Paper with a special lip that protects your thumb during a particularly messy wipe.

To further humor your idea of a "casual" server, has it ever occurred to you that there are different degrees of "casual," and that if you played on said "casual" server, there would be a guy who was just slightly more hardcore while still remaining casual than you, who would now rule supreme and be the bane of your existence cause he had 1 more crappy world epic drop than you did?  Would you then come here to bitch that Hardcore Casuals were ruining the Casual Casual server by playing 2.5 hours per day instead of the 2 hours that you have deemed okay to play?  Get it through your head.  Wow has 5 millions users, and they could lose 1 million clueless morons and not care, cause the other 4 million of us are pretty happy with the game the way it is.  Thanks...

I agree with the OP. I would like to be able to compete in PvP, but when your up against someone with all Epic gear you simply have no chance. I would try and get epic gear myself but the time investment neccessary for these 40 man raids is far more than I can allow myself. Raids IMO have always been the domain of a hardcore gamer, so I tend to leave games when I reach the max level, because there is no conent left for a casual gamer other than starting another character over. So the idea of a non raid server sounds interesting to me because the high end PVP would be more balanced for casual players. And if you don't like the idea of non raid servers then don't play on them it's that simple.
