Rift's annual celebration, Carnival of the Ascended, will begin on April 14, 2016, as part of v3.6 update. Special events will be taking place including a Carnival Instant Adventure, new Artifact sets, a new story raid rifts, daily quests and much more.

    Interesting, I enjoyed this game when it first came out, but got bored with it over time ;(. The graphics are okay, but it's the animations that seem a bit clunky. The pvp maps are pretty good, but I haven't played for 2 years so I have no idea what has changed.

    tried returning,toxic community and boring gameplay..if i want that i'll play WoW lol..good luck Trion but the ship is sinking :)

    Community is not as toxic as any other mmorpg in market, specially wow. If you are talking about the bad behavior toward new and returning players it just started since Trion shit on players with pay2win shit : ear ring and planewalker gear behind paywall, dream orb, removing feature from base game and calling it subscriber reward. A certain group of people decided to drive away new/returning players to send Trion a message.

    Boobs are LIFE, Boobs are LOVE, Boobs are JUSTICE, Boobs are mankind's HOPES and DREAMS. People who complain about boobs have lost their humanity.

    I have tried to return, only to find out I need to spend like 100$ just to get caught up on the souls I am missing

    no thanks, their soul system should lure people to their cash shop, not be a requirement

    No need to spend for other souls. If you want to get in to a top end game raiding guild then yes. Still not a needed when the free souls when it does pretty damn well even beating the payed souls by a ton. Only thing is a must is planewalker other then ear slot, but is not bigger impact then trying get gear. For me I understand a company need to make money, I don't have problem locked souls and there other stuff in the game I do have problem with. Some part is the cash shop or other part is still sticking with the old ways when other games are moving away from being old and going in to the new.

    i remember having this debate with a friend of mine. i can only speak for myself but one reason that rift caught my attention to begin with a long time ago was the soul system. also i love variety and experimenting with builds and it has nothing to do with raiding.just saying!

    Not saying your wrong but we all enjoy different things. trions mistake was making so much of the game free they have no choice but to monetize things that many of us find questionable.

    I do agree they monetize things that many of us find it questionble. Sometimes where is the line and I don't agree alot the stuff they are doing. I don't know what is a good way to do things and to keep the game coming content. The cost can be alot higher then some other mmo when they need to cut cost somewhere or drive people to buy the packs.

    Its not as nice a community as say Lotro or Final Fantasy 14 but its far from toxic . The EU community seems nicer than the North American one but the north American servers seem busier .

    I tend to find that in most games though . If I play on American servers I see far more comments of a racist nature . I recall seeing people looking for groups or looking for members for their guilds in Tera online that stated "no Mexicans" . Which was by far the most Toxic community I have ever encountered in a game .

    Did someone sheep you when you tried returning ?
