Is there a Trial ?

GOod morning,

the criterias for a good game are based very much on personal opinions, likings and dislikings.

I am not willing to buy a pig in a poke anymore.
So is there a trial for DDO ?

    there had been a very long open beta before launch ( ~1 month, at least) and there are also buddy keys, from what I have heard...
    But I am not aware of "normal" trial.

    To my knowledge, there are only two ways to play the game.

    1. Purchase the game, which is approximately $50.00 USD.

    2. Find someone who already purchased it, and ask him/her for the Guest Pass which allows you to create an account to use for 10 days free of charge.  In this case, you will need to install the game from the CD's that come in the retail box.  They are not required for play - just installation.

    If you have a buddy key, you can also DL the game from Turbine.  They have a link to the full game client in their forums.  That way if you have a friend who lives in a different city, you can still try out the game.  Just do a search on their forums for the client download.
