Launch at the start of June, then start shipping at some point in July?  That would mean widespread availability in what, September?  That's got to be the thinnest paper launch of a desktop GPU in a long, long time.

Either that or the rumor is wrong.  Kind of like last month's rumors that Pascal was going to have already launched by now.

I will say that if you can buy Pascal cards this summer, they're going to be GDDR5 cards.  That's not to say that GDDR5 is terrible.  But it would contradict a number of other rumors--which might also be wrong.

I find it more surprising EVGA is not one of the board partners mentioned considering their relationship with nVidia.

Wasn't there another thread - same topic, different source?

The way stuff gets passed around the Internet, sometimes you could find fifteen articles from "different" sources that all trace back to the same original source of some random person with Internet access making things up.  Someone who checks five of those "different" sources doesn't really have a bunch of independent verification.

Why do I get the feeling the OP's article is using this as the source?

Dont forget to mention that AMD also will launch it new Polaris Cards R9 490 and R9 490X this summer!

And yes both Pascal and Polaris will probably use GDDR5.

My source is GameStar btw. :D

Edit: Oh you mentioned it. NVM. :P

based on pattern from the last three generations, these cards should become widely available for purchase at midstream prices before the year is over.

Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

yeah I might even cancel my Rift pre-order and wait for the cards to be mainstream price

Maxwell-based Pascal hi hi hi hi

Also can you ask Monica about 390s going out of stock all over.

Because from the state of market its actually AMD which is having stock clearance, not NVidia.

Also what about the fact that NVidia has limited slots for 16nm at TSMC while AMD has 14nm GF AND additional Samsung capacities if needed.
