The latest World of Warcraft Legion alpha build  has been released that includes the addition of the final Warlock spec and the news that world questing has been enabled. According to dev posting, world quests take a "major role in endgame content" during the expansion and feature, among other interesting components, world PvP objectives.

I agree. The world quest system seems very, very interesting.

If it's like the other world pvp I got in WoW, it's standing around a dead map waiting on someone to land who's willing to fight because if they're not willing they can just run all the way to some guards and hide behind their legs.  I loved wow but the world pvp was always lacking.

I tell ya, it's no wonder devs just steam ahead and make the game they envision. One of the first posts to the Blizz thread on the WoW forums whines about "what if I don't waaaaannna do PvP -- am I locked out of progression?" (no, by the way). One of the first posts here is "world PvP was always lacking" and (in effect) this version sucks.

    The irony.

World pvp is easy...just make the game an mmorpg again. No need to provide quests for it. Just have common quest areas just like the islands did.

If they are bringing the world back into relevance. It's a move in the right direction. Colour me skeptical

OWPvP was always second class in WoW cause it had less people than PvE servers.

Its the grind of daily quests on a grander scale. This type of content leads to quick burnout. The title got me excited, thought for a min they were adding PvP objectives like DAoC/ESO and GW2. That would have had me leaping into WoW again. Oh well =-\

Yeah, cause this system hasn't existed in other games before. Blizzard is so innovative....People need to stop hyping this. WoD story was great for the most part and worth the 50$ imo but the actual game isn't that good. People will do the same cycle again, buy 15M copies > sub for a couple of months > quit > Blizzard content drought for another year 6 months after release.

I don't find it that ironic with all the recent events and the masses beginning to rise up for a legacy server. World PvP is something that left with Cataclysm, very few servers held on to it for longer and it was still a shadow of earlier days. Remember when chat would explode and people would actually fly to a zone to defend and open to hour long battles? You don't need new content for that.
Happily playing Vanilla and BC WoW, again, since September 2016.
