Keeping it short:

-Best solo class?
-most desired role?
-Hardest class to play?

Thanks.

Solo: all of them whether as a Stamina or Magika build. Some start easier than others due to getting AOE abilities early (example: Templar with 2-HD) and some more single target at first (example: Nightblade with Bow) but they all have good AOE eventually.

Desired role: in PVE? All group content up to level 50 or so can be done without a tank but you definitely need a healer. After level 50 tanks are probably in shortest supply.

Hardest class to play: can't think of any lol.

And, no offense, but you're not thinking about this very clearly. Classes are just part of it in ESO. The Weapon you use is at least as important if not more so.

Personally I enjoy magicka based sorcerers with resto/destro that can double as a healer in low level content... although I have also played the stamina version with 2-HD + dual wield and had a blast. I've played both stamina and magika Nightblades and prefer the stamina version. Magika templars are the best healers in the game but the stamina versions are also great fun.

Dragonknights are the one class I have very little experience with... never been a fan /shrug

I won't disagree with you. I played at release to about lvl12 with a sword and shield DK. I had to stop for RL reasons, so I didn't get to really learn hardly anything about the game, especially the mechanics.

Take a look at Deltia's class builds. For most (all?) of them he has low level leveling videos that should give you a taste for how they each play:  http://deltiasgaming.com/class-builds/
