Lets all take an education guess im going with August 24th 2006

July 2, 2006 0845 EST. There will be a download that will take exactly 1hr, 23 min, and 52 seconds. After that, players will log on, then immediately be hit with a lag spike that will cause those with older PCs to be kicked from the server. 2 hrs, 36 min, and 41 seconds later, all of those folks will be able to log in as well.
At 1925 EST, all of the servers will go down for a few unexpected fixes to the server stability. They will be brought back up again exactly 35 min, and 12 seconds later.
LOL WELL I have cousin that is part of the dev team and the ETA is 01/01/07

Well I really can't imagine that the date will be near 2007.
They are way into beta 2 and thinking of starting beta 3 soon. Thats backed up by official postings on their forums.
beta 3 was expected to be like 1-3 months and beta 4 or open beta is expected to last not longer than 1 month. Going "Gold" and shipping will be another 14-21 days.
All of that counted together - they could make that july date after all though I guess they will postpone it to mid-August to early september.
Just my thoughts.
Beta 3 was never expected to be 1-3 months. All that has been said by Brad is beta 3 is expected to be the longest phase of beta. Beta 0 went 3 months beta 1 2.5 months beta 2 is already over 3 months and looks like it will go another 2-3 months. Beta 3 will most likely be a minimum of 6 months and possibly a good deal longer. Beta 4 should only be a month.
The earliest this game will probably release is November. With the recent information we have heard in regards to the beta newsletters, problems optimizing the client, and revamps of the core systems it looks very unlikely we will see release anytime before November. I have been guessing November for quite sometime but I am beginning to think November is far to optomistic. I am moving my guess back to February.
Beta 2 will most definitely NOT last another 2-3 months. I would expect Beta 3 to start in April, if not in the next week or so.
My guess for a release would be July-late August.
Well as I said its only a guess.
Its all in the hands of the developer. So all we can really say is that it is in beta 2 and everything else is a mixture of hope and "fishing".
My release date guess would be November 2006.
Based on the fact Beta 3 has been said to be the longest phase and considering Beta 2 has already lasted over 3 months. It would make sense to asume that Beta 3 will last at least 5 months or wouldnt have made much sense say it will be the longest beta phase. So even if Beta 2 ends in couple weeks time it already takes the release date at least to September and there is still Beta 4 which will take some time too.
So October 2006 would be the fastest possible release date.

Vanguard: SoH will be released on July 11, 2006, at approximately 0600 hours EST.
At approximately 0602 hours EST the game servers will become "self aware" and start a war on all humans.

I would really love for SpiritofGame to be correct, and have Vanguard come out July 11th. But, it seems like MMORPGs don't come out on time. I doubt they will be as bad as Shadowbane, where the release date was pushed back nearly a year. On the other hand, I can see them pushing it back 2-3 months due to improvements they will make.
But, if they do push back the release date I should be happy that they refuse to release an incomplete game like some companies.
Sept 5th is my guess.
Summer at the earliest to start beta 3, any sooner, and you might as well stick a SWG tag on this sucker. Do not hope for a 2006 release. If it happens, it will be pushed up in order to beat out whatever competition might be releasing around the same time. (EQ2 2 weeks early due to WoW) Which is never a good thing, because all that indicates is that the game sucks and they have to sell as many copies as possible before the better game releases.
probably breaking my nda to tell you this, but beta 3 has already begun, got my invite for it almost 2 weeks ago...
oh.. and please dont judge a game you havent played, in my opinion its great, awesome intro, good quest system, great player mechanics, just a good game.

Beta 3 started 2 weeks ago and it hasn't been announced officially yet?
nothing they can do if he uses a completely different screen name, unless they can acquire his ip somehow.
but i don't know if i buy that, not saying he is FOS but why wouldn't they announce beta3? maybe so they don't get bombed with more beta request e mails?
i guess it doesn't matter though, the game is going to be ready when its ready and its going to kick a$$ regardless of if beta3 has started or not.

Well Im gonna guess that this game will be released around December of 2006. If they do it right, I would rather wait an extra month than play a bug filled lag fest of a game.

Around thanks giving (november)
and Christmas (december obviously ;p)
I'd personally expect it sometime from November into December.. but I'm sure if they were happy with it earlier it would go live.
November would be a good time... just as Sony is announcing another EQ2 anniversary Vanguard could release the same day.. would be justice imho.
Latest news is this:
-They aren't nearly ready to launch the PvP server yet.
-Brad promiced a PvP server at launch and he will stick to his word.
- Earliest release with PvP server included will be around 3-30-07

Open beta will probably be around 1-1-07, like previously stated.
