Here's an actual answer, the best that we know so far... blood elves will be able to play mages, warlocks, warriors and priests (those four for sure)... and either rogues, hunters or both (depending upon whether they get 5 or 6 classes).
It sounds great, so great in fact, I pitty those who canceled - Some deluded SWG fanboi who pities me. I don't like it when you say things. - A Vanguard fan who does too. 09f911029d74e35bd84156c5635688c0

The thing is I'd doubt druid, considering they have betrayed many of the traditional 'wood elf' kinda life, such as the night elves. A Blood elf is about gaining power, but not through nature, by arcane magic. I'd also be surprised if they were hunters, again they don't seem very intuned with nature as their brotherin.
My question is, what the hell do alliance get for a new class? I've heard rumors of some sort of animal related race from Moles, Hedgehogs, and Panda Bears. Can anyone give insight?
Needs to be a Necromancer, a blood elf Necro makes sense to me, and the stoopid panda's, well they can be Some sort of true ranger, what the point of new races without the option of new Primaries, how about a Shaolin Monk for the Panda, his head gear would work, a kung fu fighting panda yes, if it has too be another crap toon like the Big Cow's, then why not.

no certainity, rumors pointed to Furbolgs or Worgens.
I suppose the rumor about blood elves getting druid comes from this. Furbolgs, if they are the new alliance race, surely will have Druids as it is written right there, in their lore that they are a very naturalistic and druid-friendly race.
So to mantain balance, the horde should get another Druid-enabled race as well... problem is a Blood Elf druid do not make much sense... It IS true that the high elves had some nature-attuned stuff in middle of their arcane mongering (after all they had rangers and their capital was middle of a forest), but how much of this heritage, if any remain has never been said.

If Furbolgs are the new Alliance race, and get Druid... there doesn't really need to be balance on Horde side for another druid race. Blizzard does try to keep things "balanced" but not necessarily "symmetrical", in other words, each faction might have one extra race for a class than the other side does. Alliance has 4 rogue races, horde has only 3; there are 3 shaman races but only 2 paladin races, etc.
The way I see it... blood elves are arcane/shadow magic (mage, warlock) so the alliance race will be a more nature-y race (ie, druids). In that way... it balances out, just not symmetrically.
Well for the alliance race it wont be a pandaran (sp) China boycotted the idea because Pandas are sacred to china, and there for wow would lose 90% of there population and the economy would return to normal
On a serious note, i dont think BE are going to be druids! The BE were more of a magic using race, and on the www.worldofwarcraft.com site they listed warrior, mage, priest, hunter for the moment might of changed since i last looked

Inside sourses tell me Blood Elves will only be able to play "Chuck Norris" spec'd warriors and possibly Jedi.

I don't think elves of any sort are shamanistic. Druid, hunter and such classes would make sense.
