TheHiveLeader rages once again with Dark Souls 3. But does this one live up to it's predecessors? Dark Souls 3 is an Action RPG for the PS4 and Xbox One and PC. Developed by acclaimed Japanese developer FromSoftware and directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, DARK SOULS III is the latest chapter in the critically acclaimed DARK SOULS series with its trademark sword and sorcery combat and rewarding action RPG gameplay. Players will travel across a wide variety of locations in an interconnected world

    I must say I disagree. I've seen people criticize DS3 for being too similar to other Souls elsewhere and to me, it just doesn't feel like it. It uses the same formula, but I think it improves on the formula in several important ways. Weapon skills, focus points, dramatically increased speed and some important changes to PvP manage to keep it fresh. For example, it takes the good ideas behind DS2's PvP (blue summons, more prominent area-based covenants) and eliminates its weaknesses (limited red orbs, awful red rewards, soul memory). I get why it might look like the same game to someone who hasn't played much Souls, but I think the changes should be obvious to old fans. It's also the first Dark SOuls with modern visuals. That helps.

    In some ways, it's a perfect sequel. It's instantly recognizable, yet different enough not to feel like you're playing through the same game again.
