Today, at EVE FanFest, CCP announced Project Nova, a new free-to-play first-person shooter. Currently in development by the Shanghai team behind Dust 514 and Project Legion, this new effort rebuilds that core experience from the ground up. For shooter fans, Project Nova is intended to be an immediately familiar experience.

I'll wait to the day's end when the moon is high
And then I'll rise with the tide with a lust for life, I'll
Amass an army, and we'll harness a horde
And then we'll limp across the land until we stand at the shore
that like going for get a free to eat burger but you need pay for the meal inside, they give you the letuce, pay everything else, who enjoy a burger with only letuce ??!!! well that free no ONE FORCE YOU TO BUY THE MEAL !!!
im tired of that because these dev make way way more that with the subs, in fact the subs never failed, they just make way more with the f2p model.....and it realy realy more expensive for us to play... we even got riped off by these beta and alpha where we need pay for test or help them fix bugs !!!!! crazy gaming world...
im missing subs and im blaming all these mmorpg failing since some year on that... fuk f2p
im realy sad this game go right into f2p shit pool....
Also, DUST 514 sucked pretty badly.
Regardless, colossally disappointing announcement.
Founds some videos. Just another shooter. What a waste of resources, especially with Overwatch right around the corner.
..sigh..

Have fun
The fact that they have rent money left over to make Valkyrie and an FPS set in the same universe is just a bonus.
As for CCP being directionless outside of EVE. Well lets just say that there's some behind the scenes shit going on in that company that they would never get away with in a publicly traded company.
For instance, most, if not all managers of any project in CCP are Icelandic. Whether they are qualified to be a project manager, lead developer or game director at all. It's all part of the good 'ole boy club within their company. The upper hierarchy of the company is nationally homogeneous in a way that other countries would be hung out to dry as racists if they tried it. This turned out disastrous for World of Darkness, where it was made absolutely clear that their exclusive Icelandic management team had no clue how to even begin developing that game.
Cosmetic customisation is fine, but that's all.
I have found in my lifetime, that the beauty of hating stupid people is, that it crosses all racial boundaries.
Until they actually find a way to directly link their shooter with the EvE MMO universe, it's not going to accomplish anything.
Shooters are a dime-a-dozen. And, I can only speak for myself here, but 6v6 is not appealing at all to me. I personally prefer the big battles with dozens of players.
Until there's a direct connection to their EvE side, it's just another generic small-scale shooter. You think they would have figured this out since they already tried it once before. I hope they have something brilliant up their sleeves for part two.
I think they are determined to get on the bandwagon(or back on it, in this case). Everybody is focused on releasing some kind of small team-battler these days.
rofl, dat post.
first lane, asks people stop calling them free to play
last lane, uses f2p to define that game's "pool" :P
