I love the Final Fantasy serries (hated the MMO) Im looking for an MMO rpg That is simlar to the FF serries, i have heard guild wars is simular and i didnt care for the farmers in WoW running the whole economy.
Looking for somthing with cities, towns, dungens...etc. Run around in a group (with other people or NPCs) get cool items etc.
Whats out there? I have been told D&D online is not waht im looking for because u have to have one of each class in a party to take down an area. U cant do it solo or with a small group that is strong enough but lacks one or more classes.
So whats out there...please reply.

Nothing out really can capture whats in Final Fantasy since its a console based single player RPG; so there are alot of things the developers won't have to do, and they can also pump the game with cool cinematics. But from what you said here is a small list of things I can think of that you might enjoy from upcoming games and currently released games:
-Guild Wars
-Risk your Life
-Phantasy Star Online
-Tales of Eternia Online
-SUN
-Granado Espada
-Age of Conan
Have you even tried Final Fantasy XI... nuff said
the guy/girl said "I love the Final Fantasy serries (hated the MMO)"
so i'm thinking that he/she isn't interested in FFXI.

I curretly play and own an fso2 server, Ophidon's Wrath its more like Zelda than FF, however they will be releasing a new game platform soon called First Star Online Stratics
here is the the pregame hype
The next "generation" of FSO game. Up to 53 party members in a single battle...8 players (x5 hirelings each), and 13 monsters. turn-based, (but super fast and lagless) fights. The ability to work on not one character, but 5 (well, 6 if you include your trainer which is the character represented in the game world, who can lumberjack, tailor, fish, and mix potions to earn money for your hirelings and help them in battle).
Dozens upon dozens of different classes to choose between, each with unique weapons/armor and abilities. Also, every monster in the game is a playable class that you can add to your party.

My suggestion is to wait for FFXII because there arent any MMO's that play like FF console RPG's
