    R9 390 performance for the price of R7 370? I won't complain but common sense tells me it's nonsense...

    That's because the high end is called Vega, not Polaris.  I don't know if Vega will only be a single chip at the high end or if it will have additional lower end chips, but other than offering newer memory technologies, it's not clear what they could do with Vega for a lower end part that couldn't just as well be done sooner with Polaris.
