Yesterday, Blizzard released Whispers of the Old Gods, the latest full expansion to Hearthstone, and at least on the surface level it appears to be the craziest expansion the game’s seen yet. I’m still slightly apprehensive, but I do think the sorts of cards we’re getting with this expansion are really going to shake things up.

The Juggler nerf wasn't too strong, but BGH has definitely been impacted.
I didn't mind the new Cthulhu-parody builds but hell..
The people were spamming the new taunt emoticons like crazy. Bad enough when you feel superior because you pumped 50$ into a card game but is your life really so pathetic that you need to mock people who can't keep up with your p2w attitude?
It makes me want to quit this game simply because I don't want to be affiliated with these people in any way.
There needs to be an auto squelch option IMO.
I squelch my opponent immeditaly once play begins. I just wish there was a one time effect that would gets "cast" when you squelch someone so they know you silenenced their ass.
The game was already light on cards, to begin with, and we just lost 100 for their standard format.
To give some people a point of reference, Pokemon's standard format also includes the prior 2 years of cards... but that is around 2,000 cards; Hearthstone sits at 700?
They are basically forcing C'thun on us, and that is just really...really stupid. Maybe if there were 4-6 "C'thun"s in the expansion, each with completely different effects and costs, it wouldn't be.
Some of the stronger decks did not need Knife Juggler at all to win so i would say it was a bad nerf and not needed. An OTK auto win card like Anyfincan happen was a ridiculous o/p card.I personally don't have a problem with nerfs but not the way Blizzard does it to where MOST nerfs the cards become unplayable, that is not good for the game either, seems Blizz can't get it right either way, they need some smarter people making decisions.
Matter of fact i thought a few were needed but the real truth is Blizzard pulled a snow job on the player base.
MTG would have constructed standard but they would also release a ton more cards.Blizzard makes more money but is too cheap to release the proper amount of cards, also why they never release theme for each class instead the ONE theme which is the Cthun cards.
They needed to lure people into buying new cards ,so if you want in Standard, you need to BUY BUY because too many good cards are removed meaning you have little chance of success.
Then because so many straight up started buying 150+ packs they instantly make Blizzard rich while supporting a scam idea.
I have decided to NOT give Blizzard a dime for this lame attempt at ripping people off, instead i will play Wild until i attain enough good new cards to compete in Standard.I am in no hurry or race, unlike the pro $$$$ streamers,i don't feel the need to spend to get Legend every season,i play for ...ahem go figure FUN !!.Easy gimmick too because the streamers spend OTHER peoples money so they have no problem dropping down 300 packs then all their followers see the decks their playing and want the same action so it snowballs into $$$.
FTR i could buy 300 packs myself EASILY,it is the point and reason why i will not.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
The problem with this game, it is far more important what cards are in your deck verses how you play them.
I bought the $50 pack.. and I still love my Murloc decks.
SO muahahahahah
But I will say I used the C'thunn deck to unlock my free packs.
Hearthstone is pretty fair to free players and they were generous by giving a total of 13 packs and one legendary for free. Some people are just never satisfied and feel they should get everything as easy as a paying player. Those people vote for Bernie Sanders I imagine!
Free packs
No more Combo Druid
Brand New Meta with no Boom or Shredder or mini-bot or muster or everyone running a BGH
Like the article says, the standard format is great because it really frees up their design space. Rather than having to make a card better than shredder or Dr. Boom in those mana slots, they just get rid of the cards for the format.
Spent a bunch of hours playing yesterday and I had quit for awhile, chiefly because of how dumb it was playing or playing against a combo druid.
This expansion fixed that and brought tons of other great things to the game.
Haven't had this much playing since I started a year and a half ago.

C'Thun gets crushed if you keep cards like Polymorph and the like on deck. Don't let them get to 10/10 gems. I had a rogue last night destroy my C'Thun deck by turn 6. I was like Dayum. I then went on to smack down quite a few other people because they didn't aggro the right cards in the right order (this will soon be fixed but for now I'll take advantage of it).
Frankly, even my Murloc deck is still pretty competitive (until turn 9) against these decks. Once 9/10 hits.. if I don't have them to half health, I'm in trouble.. but that's how it works when I can flop down 4 Murlocs in a turn.
