I am taking an Ethical Hacking class and for our final project we are supposed to take a poll and write a paper on hacking. I chose hacking in MMORPG's as my subject. Please take this survey. It is 100% anonymous and will only be shared with my instructor, unless you all want to see the results as well. No IP's or anything else will be shared. If you want to see the results, post below.
It is just 2 questions, does not identify you in any way, takes less than 30 seconds, AND it would help me a TON if you take it. Just please, please be honest, and don't bypass Survey Monkey's simple IP block to vote more than once.
The more people I can have answer, the better my sample size will be, and my paper will reflect that.
Thank you all very, very much.
Sorry for doing this, but this is my final project and I want an A. Thought I would ask a community that is actually effected by this, as this topic thoroughly interests me.

The one above is not working for some reason.

Aside from that have fun with the paper!
Feel free to goolge Dr. Kaleem and see what classes he teaches.

I am also extremely interested in why you don't believe me. Can you please elaborate?
Setting everything up within the presented guidelines is part of my grade. I can't just pick and chose what I want.

Do a google search for "MMORPG Hack". Set it to search the past 24 hours. Nothing but BDO comes up. That is why it was chosen. I have to pick an MMOG that was recently in the news for having hacking issues. BDO meets that criteria.
Yes, I play BDO.
I have a 56 Sorceress, and a lot of alts. I can't reveal my server until the survey is over.
Yes I have seen 7 hackers so far BUT that is in over a month of playing. It has gotten worse lately as more and more hacks are exposed. I blame http://mmogfails.blogspot.com/ but I wont give you my opinion of the site and issue until my minimum of 48 hours worth of surveying is up.
I labeled your posts as negative by viewing your history. Most of your topics are nothing but negative comments about BDO. But now that I know your stance is that exploits are best fixed by exposing them, I understand why you do this.
I found my avatar funny by googling "poor student", so that is what I went with.
I will answer any and all questions you have, just please answer mine as well... Not that I have any right now
I have not played WoW in 3 years. Writing about it would require I spend at least 40 hours getting re-acquainted with the game.
What school has this class? Give details on it so we can google this class you are taking.

Why did feel you had to try and discredit me?
Btw, here is my proof that I had to take for my class.
I took this SS yesterday at about this time.

Please tell me why you want this information?
Why do you need to google the class I am taking? Am I asking to google your identity?
Please respond, this is pure gold for my class.
Because it smells of bullcrap.

Since when is google, news, let alone forum posts?
Why do you have 3 different threads on this?
Why would you link a poll for a specific game, to a website for hundreds of game forums, where you can get people voting that don't even play the game.
The fact you can't even verify that the people using the poll even play the game, let alone purchased it at any point, means your poll has ZERO VALIDITY.
I think you have an agenda, and it's got nothing to do with a class paper.
Anyway.
If you still read this. You might gain some points if you actually defined what botting is and make sure that your informants know what actually defines a bot.
Now i am unsure at what level this course is given, but your setup seems sloppy and not very well thought out. If i was your examiner i would at best give you the lowest passing grade and implore you to actually put some effort in next time.
This have been a good conversation
You will no doubt be top of the class, given that most of the other students appear to have no googling skills or knowledge of MMO current affairs whatsoever. They are all chasing WoW, which hasn't been "recently in the news for having hacking issues".
It's a bit disconcerting that your instructor seems to have such a limited grasp of MMO current affairs, so much so that he would suggest WoW as an example of a game that recently made the headlines due to hacking....
Nice that your "google search" also returned primarily BDO references, it must have been very convenient, given that you are a BDO player...
But it's strange that your search returned no references to the current furore about hacking in The Division. Perhaps you're using a special "student version" of Google...
To have a course that set the students the tasks of reflecting on how and why hackings is used both as a destructive tool and a tool for change and how society could react to this is important. Especially as we are more and more digitized and connected.

I guess you might say that relates to hacking, but I mean it still seems strange. He never put you down, you're playing the victim and personally attacking him at the same time, it's mind boggling.
Can we please just report this guy and lock / close this thread?
The first reason the OP gave for choosing BDO as his main subject contraddicts the second.
If he was playing BDO already and witnessed hacks, he didn't need to Google it, that's BS.
Nice try OP, I hope you get paid well for what you are doing........
I personally prefer studies on the viscosity of ketchup on an inclined plane to these because at least people might actually use the data gathered.
