The good things.
1. Graphic is next gen - Very beautiful environtment. People love natural things, tress, river, dynamic weather. People love medieval setting game. All AAA MMORPG has this theme or part of it. Like Guild war 2, teso, archeage.
2. The art is realistic. Some NPC has a good realistic faces. All MMORPG should go towards realistic arts. Archeage did this great too. Meanwhile GW2 arts is too cartoony, they need to improve (probably in GW3). TESO art is bad, the human face looks weird.
3. Auto path. Great concept, all other mmo and rpg game should have this system. I love it.
The bad things of Black Desert.
1. Combat too flashy, players get 'godly strenght' at early level. The move are over and too asian. Not to mention bad voice acting. IDK why korean like annoying little girl shouting... can they use a proper voice actress? a matured sound voice actress?
2. Rude AOE damage. I understand if classes like mage or necromancer to have insane AOE damage. But classes like ninja and warrior, they should not have that. Its freaking rude to kill group of monsters with just spamming AOE damages. Monster deserve more respected kills, they been killed like ants. The PVE is too easy and being spam annoyingly, even hurt my eyes to watch that mess.
3. Bad Quest Design. This is why archeage fail. talk to another after another NPC is BORING! I like guild war 2 quest where player just go kill monster and complete the hearts (quests). Not to mention BAD main quest stoyline. Most MMORPG FAIL in this, even archeage and gw2 storyline suck. MMORPG dev should focus on sandbox element, let player craft they own story.
4. Bad face preset. Some NPCs looks good, but player character all looks the same. Some looks even worse, like a fail plastic surgey asian girl and hideous fail sex doll. Peoples IQ below 100 wont detect this, but for me i like realistic faces, developer should see how real girl looks like, craft it properly. GW2, TESO fail in this too, but Archeage kinda did well, the face looks natural, but still has plenty to improve.
This face things actually a great opportunity for cash shop, Developer can craft a beauty face and sell it at cash shop.
5. Body posture. Female standing too stiff, pls fix it. Archeage did well in this.
Note to all MMORPG developer.
1. Why Archeage kinda dead compared to GW2? Both game is free to play now. Because GW2 is PVP friendly. Archeage is too PVE oriented. Player been forced to do PVE. Those PVE carebears will stop playing after reach max levels, they will jump to another game, and now black desert online ( i miss how crowded archeage at alpha stage). Meanwhile the PVP players keep playing at SPVP map and WVW map. It is PVP players that keep MMO alive.
Archeage is a great game, i love its art style, its music, its character, but its lack PVP contents.
2. This is time to go for realistic art style. Long gone the time of anime and cartoony arts style. This is why GW2 wont last much longer. Their art style is too cartoony. And this is also the reason why game like wildstar, WOW is now dead.
I want more realistic, beautiful faces presets. Character creation is a strong point for players to stay in the game. I will log in every day if i love my character and i love the game world. More player log in means more alive the game is.
3. Nothing wrong with PAY TO WIN. player pay the dev to be stronger. let them be, they support the game, they deserve to be strong. BUT, please but SPVP things (5vs5 matchmacking with all equal stats/eq) like GW2 did, this is what makes gw2 alive.
And makes the strength between pay2win players and grinding player not too far, what GW2 did just right.
4. Player craft story. Give a sandbox environtment, let player craft their own story. Stop those crappy tutorial main storyline quest.
Comments
Might not effect the farmville guys but eventually playing farmville gets boring
"eventually pvp gets boring" might be something that a pve person would say. Or anyone for that matter.
I don't believe there will be an ultimate downfall for BDO. People will eventually leave for their reasons and the people dedicated to the game will stay. Just like Lineage 2 still has a player base, Lord of the Rings online still has a playerbase, Dark Age of Camelot still has a player base.

Other than that, loving the game so far.
Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile
I haven't hired workers yet and in truth I'm not really interested. I do fish and I find that fun as it's a bit like a slot machine.
My gear isn't "uber high" but all but one bit of armor is +9 and one is +10. My weapon is +13 and I have something like +27 fail stacks so "soon". I'll force enhance to +15.
I went to grind for the Witches' earring and over the course of a few days got 3. Two I will keep and one I've put on the market.
I guess what I'm saying is it's better to figure out the things you enjoy and make them work for you. I might not be the front runner as far as level (only 41% into level 51) and gear but I'm enjoying myself.
It's possible one might have to do other things but I think it's ok to ease into that sort of stuff.

Second is the hacks.
Playing: varies every day it seems.
OP didn't mention any of the good points about the game other than the gfx. It's funny how two players can play the same game and one player won't touch 90% of the game because they are focused on lvling, +whatever gear and PvP (of which there is currently no reason to PvP other than that battleground thing).
Edit: I quit Archeage due to the dumbass labor point system and I couldn't get land. No land = no progress.
Problem is, if what you're saying is accurate you're already not on par w/ what the more serious players are doing. At this point, having full +15 gear is actually very easily achieved. You shouldn't be deliberately wasting fail stacks on that unless it's a Kzarka weapon / Liverto. You should be using your fail stacks on going for things like Pri Witches Earrings / Mark of Shadows / etc. And (on my server) quite a few people are getting to the point where they have Pri / DUO and even Tri Ogre rings, which is nuts.
Furthermore utilizing workers (and the node system) is almost critical to keeping up your cash flow, and staying relevant. The only alternative is constantly farming / grinding for loot which puts you not only at the mercy of RNG, but also the marketplace (good luck trying to buy some of the rarer items before the bots snatch it up).
Some examples:
"You came to see me. I guess you're pretty good at sensing where the money is" Suita the trade manager in Heidel
What the hell are you talking about? "You about to make me angry" -some kid in Heidel by the tipped over cart
Or that shrimp kid Shai yelling at that giant in Velia down storage manager "not that way" "do it better"
"HI I'M LARA!"-Lara in Heidel
And never fish on the docks in Velia with the sound on...ever
LOOKING AT THE SEA... MAKES ME FEEL RELIEVED... LIKE WHEN MY MOTHER HOLDS ME!
I TOLD HER I WOULD NEVER LET HER STARVE...MAYBE THAT WASN'T THE RIGHT THING TO SAY.
As far as the weapon I don't have a kzarka and don't know when I'll have one. I do have a plus 13 yuria (edit now +14 and made enough money last night where I should be able to buy a ring of shadows next play session) so I work with what I have . And perhaps my time will open up and I'll be able to invest more. But right now I'm having a blast. I know other players who are at my level so I'm not alone. People need to learn to enjoy themselves and not keep up with the joneses.

Black Desert is amazing
Cons
There are not more games out that are as amazing as Black Desert
Con: Grinding is still THE main focus of the game and you feel very little progression per level -- it doesn't captivate you like other games.
Pro: Black Desert has really pretty graphics.
Con: These graphics will hinder you during boss fights and sieges. You'll wish they weren't so...Pretty.. when you're lagging.
Pro: Black Desert has a unique combat system that makes you feel powerful and skilled.
Con: Your actual skills don't matter because everything is client side and easily hackable at the moment.
Pro: Black Desert is a one time fee (Buy to play).
Con: The cash shop will have you paying a years worth of subscription fees within your first month for ONE character on your account.
Pro: Black Desert receives updates every month.
Con: The game has already lost *my* interest due to the company failing so miserably within the first 2 months.

True, you can't trade and I do feel the pain there but people can still cooperate within the confines of the ruleset.

“Microtransactions? In a single player role-playing game? Are you nuts?”
― CD PROJEKT RED
BDO is not a game to be a 'billy no mates' in, it rewards those who like to group with others in game activities fairly significantly, not to mention, its more fun that way too.
No direct trading is kind of a none issue, probably because i don't do direct trading in games that even allow it, as i've always used the various AH/GTN's/Bazaar's that you find in MMO's instead, so for me, no direct trading has had zero effect on my gameplay, except in a positive way because of how its kept the RMT'ers and other scammers at bay, and i don't care how much their gameplay is impacted tbh, so long as they don't impact mine, so good job Daum, now sort out those hackers!
