Hey all, so I ran across this company/site cyberpowerpc.com since I was thinking of buying a new gaming pc. They seem to have frequent deals but I haven't really heard of them before. I was wondering if anyone has had a pc built by them before and if so, how was the quality and such?

However,
Depending on budget and skills, i would look at components, even presets, but also look at overclockers.net and scan.co.uk
to name but 2 more.
But many moons ago (about 7 years) i bought a gaming pc from them and had no problems for quite some time
But woudln't worry about handing your cash over to them

they are fine I bought one of their gaming rigs about 8 years ago from them. The thing about these companies you have to remember though is your going to pay more for custom building your machine than just doing it yourself. Everything is plug and play nowadays so your really giving those guys like an extra 400 or so bucks to do it for you when most of the stuff you can do yourself easily in probably less than 30 minutes from scratch. I bought my last laptop gaming pc from xotic pc which is also a good company but like i said I paid much more almost 2200 bucks but to me that was worth it because it was a laptop and working in very small space isnt my best attribute.

They always, always, always claim to have special deals running. When setting their base prices, they inflate the nominal price to price in that everyone is going to get a special deal that brings it down quite a bit. What matters is the price you pay and the hardware you get, not whether you nominally got a 10% or 20% or 30% discount.

Cyber Power PC will offer cheap junk hardware at cheap junk prices, or nice hardware at higher prices. Getting a computer built to order is almost never going to be as good of a deal as building your own, but if you can't or won't build your own, they do offer reasonable prices. You'd better know what you're picking on hardware, though, as if you pick cheap junk parts and end up with a cheap junk computer, it's your own fault, not theirs.

I've bought from them in the past, they are "ok". Make sure you check your order and parts to ensure it all works. It will be pricey, since you are paying all involved. This was like 6 years ago for me.
I have since then learned to build my own and it is WAY cheaper.
I suggest building your own using parts you order.

There are tutorials online that are great. I've recently built my second system back in Oct 2015.

I have one of their gaming PCs and I love it. It's a pure beats. They have sales and if you pick the parts on sale in their builder you can get an awesome deal. Normally I build my own PC but with the sales they had I could not turn it down.

With Cyber Power, its hit or miss in terms of quality. Sometimes they are awesome, sometimes they fail. They are pretty much middle of the road between an OEM vendor like HP and a Boutique vendor like Falcon Northwest. They will use parts you can buy off sites like Newegg, then assemble it in house. They are also local for me so the shipping faults are limited. They may be overseas for you which may pose problems.
The main problems I find with CyberPower PC is that they let you build crap with crap parts. So naturally it will be a crappy PC. They also have a quick quality control process which lets out lemons that they may make difficult to replace.
You can tell the difference by the price they charge. Its nearly how much you would pay for the parts online. They are just getting a bulk discount so they can sell them near MSRP and make a profit. A Boutique vendor adds $500 on top of that for things like a good return policy and breaking in the machine during quality control.

I had a really bad experience with them years ago .. and wouldnt recomend them to anyone or ever use them again ...

Bought my husband one of their "deals" a couple of years ago. His PC is solid and actually runs game almost as well as my Velocity machine which I paid almost double for 6 months later. I wouldn't say they are a ripoff but I would be sure you are ordering what you want.

I would never recommend Cyberpower. A powersupply failed and it took 3 months for them to honor a replacement (could not even get anyone to answer the phone and give me an rma number)and I had to pay the shipping charges when they did. They also installed a substandard liquid cooling system and on top of that removed one of the fans on the radiator so instead of one fan on each side it only had one and ran hot.

I ordered my current PC from them after getting tired of building them myself. No complaints about the PC. Would buy from them again.

I got one from them about 5-6 years ago and love it. Got it for about $200 cheaper than similar systems elsewhere at the time. Only issues I've ever had were mainly my own fault due to things like not cleaning it up on a regular basis even though it's in a very high dust / dirt / pet fur infested area. My brother also got his system from cyberpower not long after me, and his motherboard crapped out on him after a few years but that may have been due to failing to protect his system properly during a cross country move.

As a few others have mentioned, just be sure you know what you're buying. Do a little bit of research on the hardware you're putting into it. Crappy hardware is crappy no matter who you're buying it from.

Cyberpower is like any other PC builder. Keep in mind this is not like buying a Chevy or a Ford where those companies are actually manufacturing the parts inside of them. They are literally just taking whatever parts you order and putting it together for you and shipping it to you. If you buy shit parts, it will be a shit PC, if you buy good parts, it will be a good PC.

You will pay 20-30% more than if you put it together yourself, however, like quiz said, if you can't or won't do it yourself they are perfectly fine.

I got my most recent PC from them at a better deal than my lacking price hunting skills could find. However that wasn't the main reason I used them. I wanted to do a "custom" liquid cooling system and I hadn't built one before. Got it from them as an example so I could see how it worked. As for issues with the system I've had only one. They didn't quite fill the reservoir for the cooling all the way so I had to recently pop in a bit more one the rather large air bubbles worked out.

After what happened to my friend's custom high end PC he had them make, and the lackadaisical way they went about to fix the problem that THEIR ASSEMBLERS created, there is no way in hell I would give them a nickel of my money.

Build your own, you will save so much money! I recently took the plunge and built my first system and realized it is easy. It is as simple as following an instruction manual and referring to some YouTube videos to fill in the gaps. Have faith in yourself and do not pay a premium for a process which isn't difficult!

My current PC is from them. I'm very happy, however, I did a few custom parts when ordered and also did some other upgrades on my own. So like the others have said, it depends on what parts you choose.

I know far too many people who've had problems with cyberpower and ibuypower. Go with Digital Storm. I can't recommend them enough.

Thanks all for the response. Would there be any recommendations for that particular site for those that have had good experiences with them? I kind of wanted a desktop for around 1k (USD) good enough to run games like witcher 3 and MSG phantom pain at least. Sadly, I'm not well versed in which parts are good and otherwise. I've just been used to buying PCs from companies like HP and Dell for the past few years and HP's models turned me off so that's the main reason why I've been looking else where lol.

I have always built my own, but as I was searching around and comparing components/prices I found that CyberpowerPC could build me almost the exact system I was looking to build for about $200 less.
Plus they assembled and tested it there so I didnt have to do all the work and configuring.

Plugged it in, turned it on and I was playing Fallout 4 in about an hour.

Its best to find a "base" system and then configure the components to make it how you want it.

this is why I do pre-builts from '2nd tier' vendors such as PowerSpec
