I just got DDO and i'm wondering about a few things...
i'm up to the section where i must group in order to really advance (level 1 rank 1 currently)
But so far the game has left me a little puzzled in the following areas:
Jerky Movement. Now this could be my computer, but it seems the movement of my character, NPC enemies, other players and any moveable object at all is slightly jerky or with a low Frame Count.
This seems odd and is very upsetting when i'm coming from games like WOW for example, where you could gracefully leap with your tiger mount off a hill top and land in one swift, smooth motion.
I've not had a chance to test out the graphical options of DDO as yet, but would anyone reading this know why the movement is so jerky currently ?
Also - my system total freezes for 5-15 seconds at a time when the tavern is full - kinda a downer.
Thanks for any answers in advance on this.

Sounds to me as if your GFX settings need turining down, what are your system specs?
Try turning it all down to minimum and then if that runs fine crank it up a bit at a time until you reach a happy medium.
The game's got slightly better lighting/shadow effects than WoW does, and that's taxing on a machine. Almost always, the kind of stutter you're talking about comes from things like;
-Graphics settings too high.
-Fragmented hard disk (possible split pagefile)
-Not enough RAM
-Spyware/trojans on your system.
I won't deny it, one of WoW's virtues is that it runs well on even older machines. Then again, its graphics are pretty bare bones. DDO's graphics, as you will eventually see, are much better. I have a pretty high-end machine, and sometimes in Taverns I get some lag too. Most of the time though, it's smooth as silk for me. Good luck!
System memory needs to be at least 1 gig to play decent. Also 256 mb graphics card will make a huge difference. Try to not overpower your card or it will be jerky, the game is not close to being optimized yet.
Definitely defrag your hard drive and also set up DDO as a high priority item in your list of active programs.
If you do not have a top notch computer don't try to crank the settings, and make sure post processing is turned off.
