Software for Children / Nursery Applications - AKA WOW

The more I read posts from professed WOW enthusiasts, the more of an impression I get that WOW is just a virtual nursery for children barely out of diapers.  The information I have gathered and screenshots that I have perused about WOW appears to me like it is merely a playable cartoon.  Are there any "adults" who have tried WOW that can attest to this?

A personal rant - What parents, in their right mind, are allowing their children to play online, days on end, instead of booting them out of the house and doing some physical activity?

Some lame ass is going to report you. They always do to me, so that shows the "tattle tails" that play WoW right there. ::::28::

    Dear SnaKey,

You have been issued a warning by one of our moderators.

    Warning Category: Other
Reason: If you have a problem with the posts of other suers and you feel that they are hjacking threads in other forums, you can report those posts. Posting an angry thread in the WoW forums is not an appropriate way of dealing with this situation. I am deleting this post. You have been warned on two seperate occasions about the way that you express your anger on these forums. This is the FINAL warning that you will recieve on this subject before further action is taken.

    Thank you,

    The Staff

I certainly expect flames from kids, if for no other reason than they feel that their "maturity" is being threatened.  But, if I get a warning from MMORPG for my post / thread, then my opinion of this site will go through the floor.  Still, I don't think that would concern the mgmt of MMORPG, because there are plenty of kiddos with nothing better to do on here.

Not really worried about it. The thread posted wasn't even for the WoW ppl and it was far from angry.

Wow isn't a childs game but, there are people that are childish in the game. First of all, the reported bullshit is lies. There is a thing in the chat option called ignore user. People only report if they're causing harm to the game by error glitching clients software, hacking the auction house and, rarely is the report on harrassment issues.

Here are the things I hate and loathe about wow, fags.. idiots that dance naked in stormwind or, ironforge saying stupid ass shit that no one except their faggy friends care about. Next is the dumbasses that need on anything blue rare and, loot before all mobs are killed. Another thing is when ressers are the only person left and loots everything they can before ressing the rest of the party. Another thing is when you make it halfway through and instance and one of your members jump out cause they got something to do.. if any party member does that I instantly ignore them cause they're always likily to do it again and, I've seen it.

Another is asswipes advertising the best items that give quests and everything for 2000 gold on the trade channel, another is advertising guilds... expecially end game guilds that say they will give you the best items and work with you to level but, all they really care about is the member numbers. I hate what WoW's community has become they don't give a shit about anyone that is new and, spoil it for many other new comers.

What I like about WoW is the entire game design, there are sets of armor you can get to make you look awesome but, are hard to get if you get them yourself- I love the enviroment WoW worked to create, the dungeons of the game are masterfully developed you can only see it to know. Racial buffs and, class skills/talent build is awesome and gives the game depth better then most MMOGs. The combat system is great although it could be better the further you level the more things you get to do that are much funner.

Quests are real fun although they don't have voice actors work on many of them they do have them sound when you see npc's and click on them although it isn't much and they carbon copied it alot there, it's still a good thing and I wouldnt' call it bad.

My suggestion if you join a server find the lowest population or, a new server kind of rare if not impossible, there are now chinese farmers and hackers in the game so, it's making it lose worth in playing, people are selling accounts and farming money to sell on internet sites, it's pathetic someone trades currency for fake currency. If you want to really enjoy it to the full potental, start a character, turn off all chats general/trade/guild recruitment/LFG/, then find a custom mod I don't recommend cosmos.. and not use game hints found on the internet. In the end I ended up hating the game cause of the cheap game hints all over the net.

I don't know, I'm starting to hate the game honestly.. not cause of blizzard but, the community.

Professor Hubert Farnsworth - That question is less stupid but, you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.

I'm trying the game right now, it's fun in some ways. YES, on the part that there are some childish people on the game. The last time I was online (Yesterday) there was this guy/chick/it named emo(something) and he kept flaming the general channel with the f word.
So you know what happened next? Four people joined in on the F-U-N!

The mods are worthless, all they really say is "Ignore them"
WHAT?!, IGNORE?! How can you let people do that?!

In any other MMO they would have been banned right on the spot for saying that. But, Ooooo no, not in this game. You're rewarded points or something.

Good game, cartoon graphics, crappy community, it's not worth the hipe.
I'm going back to Final Fantasy XI.

I know I'm saying this in vain, but...WOW's community was no worse than any other online game I've played... Simply put... There are far more people playing WOW than any other online game, some zones are large, and highly populated. More people = more jackasses, thats all there is to it. And most of the people that sit and criticize the game's community most likely never played past level 40 or so. I played the game for over a year, over a few different servers, and after level 30 the noobs seem to pan out (idiots dont have the attention span to level just one toon to 60).

I played Final Fantasy XI for almost two years straight, don't tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about. THIS is a dramatic change in community wise.

You go from something that older people play to something that attracts children and all you hear is cussing. Let me think..., OH, I know.
Play Diablo 2, Counter-Strike, Warcraft III TFT, RUNESCAPE, anything free really. That's the type of people playing WoW.

All I can say is...wow.  heh

I expected to hear from a few folks in their late teens, maybe in their 20's, but 30's and 40's?

I dunno.  I'm not into "cartoonish" type games, and that's just me.  I understand.

I also see several references to Final Fantasy.  That one also seems a bit too "cartoonish."  I suppose it all boils down to whatever floats your boat.  It would make sense that folks who like WOW also like Final Fantasy, and vica verse.

Let me try this out.  Would it blow my cover to say that I'm a big X-COM player?  ha ha.  And here I am talking about the "cartoonish" games like WOW.  I wonder if any of the WOW kids even know about that classic.

Just had to point out the irony that your XFire profile says you've played WoW 15 hours this week, and you've got 62 hours of diablo 2 in there too...
