Cramit845Cramit845 Member UncommonPosts: 395
So today it was revealed that 5 new employees have joined the team at Visionary Realms for Pantheon:RotF.  Check out the article below from the main site.  It seems they are adding more talent and I'm happy to hear about it, how about you guys?

Now they just need a charismatic face man for the company.  Hire a celebrity.
    Wow. Just... omg.

Best advice to ruin a company by spending more money on a useless person then the actual product.
People that are attracted by a "face" are not a target audience for Pantheon. At least i sure hope so.

MMOs finally replaced social interaction, forced grouping and standing in a line while talking to eachother.

Now we have forced soloing, forced questing and everyone is the hero, without ever having to talk to anyone else. The evolution of multiplayer is here! We won,... right?

Some people just don't know how to get over stuff that happened ages ago.

By the way Brad, since you are around and I can't talk to the official Forums (Drop the forum fee please, it keeps some cash flowing but it is bad marketing), I am wondering if you noticed the Kickstarter campaign that Soulbound put up for Chronicle of Elyra, that's how it is done.
Your Kickstarted failed not because people don't like Brad Mcquaid (well some people do because that's the Internet) but because it didn't say much about the game or what your Company stands for, it didn't convince me and I am one of your (many?) fans.

CoE Kickstarter pitch it's a masterpiece of how you present your game, you should take some notes.
If you can do something similar to that, I am sure you could try once again with better results.
Keep up with the good work, your game and CoE are the only two games I am looking forward before I give up and I quit MMOs for good.

Lets be honest, CoE put in a lot more time and work before they launched their kickstarter. Same with Crowfall. Maybe it was a lack of money, maybe a bad decision or maybe both. If they would have launched a kickstarter with the kind of progress they have now, it would have probably been different.

    Agreed.
Kickstarter is about selling an idea, and VR didn't do a good job at it, I hope they will be able to put  something together that make justice to what they want to achieve.
The player base is there, you need to excite them with something special.

It would be nice to meet the entire Team as well like Soulbound did, knowing the people who are building the game is important if we have to invest some money in the game.

You don't have $5 a month to join the official forums? In all honesty, if that is true, I doubt you're going to be able to play Pantheon due to its subscription model.

As for whether or not the model for gaining access to the official forums is a good idea, I have to disagree. While, as of late, there has been more discord there than normal, those boards are still notably more productive and positive than most other public boards as it relates to discussing Pantheon. Although, I will say the trolls on these boards have died down over recent months.

I personally would love to find out that VR has been finding funding in ways we're not all privy too, as opposed to wanting them to go the kickstarter route again. While Kickstarting a game is not as bad as working with a publisher, I think it still puts a ton of pressure on the development team to stay within the fan-base's perceived design expectations. Plus the expectation for access into pretty much everything the team is doing goes up exponentially. I want Brad and co. to develop them game in a way they decide is best. I have enough faith that, when reasonable, our voices are heard and weighed.

Yea $5 a month to post on a forum seems like a ripoff to me.  I can afford it, but it just feels wrong.  Kind of like paying subs for online newspapers.

Except free newspapers don't facilitate a way for you to disrupt their articles, productivity or the enjoyment of their subscribers.

Pardon?  Plenty of free newspapers let you post on their forums.

I can't believe the fans of this game.  Do you really think anyone wants to pay money to use some indie small companies forum?  That's ridiculous and if you weren't a huge fan of the game you would be agreeing with me.  A sub for a game? Sure.  A sub to use a dinky forum lol, you should get your head examined.

Any pledge gets you permanent access. Anyone can read the forums, but not everyone can participate. If people want to, they can support the game. Letting everyone in just turned the forums into a shit show.

  • delete5230delete5230 Member EpicPosts: 7,081

It seems this topic is getting way out of hand.  With good news of 5 employees being added to the team, the topic somehow turned negative !

Pledging $5 is just that a pledge.....Giving a donation to help the game be made.  Access to the forum is a simple gift back nothing else.....So instead of being good news it turned into a "give me something" topic.

Since we are going wayyyy off topic, I'll go with it.  The game has well over a year before release, this is no secret.  My plan is to DONATE ( meaning nothing or very little in return ) around $200 shortly before release.  This is a DONATION because I have hopes for this game.

I also understand this is not a charity organization.  Before I donate to non charity, I have to make sure donations to good causes to help people are satisfied first.

So now you have it.  I went off topic too.

Unlike you, I'm here to support the game I want to see made. If a byproduct of that is that I gain access their, mostly, troll free forums, even better. The fact that I contribute financially, and I see that the company I support is growing is a win for me.

It seems to me that the guy that spends his time trying to troll on a public forum is the one whose mental health is suspect.

So, getting back to the thread topic - new peeps - maybe they will eventually poke their heads into these forums and say hello. :) If we haven't already scared them away.
