Too much pvp

ErebozEreboz Member UncommonPosts: 6
I have been looking for a new mmo for almost a year now. Preferrably f2p and I'm currently using a laptop with not so great specs. So my options are very limited. Any game I do find that is just what I'm looking for, forces open world pvp on me. I understand that a lot of people like pvp, so of course it has to be in the game, I just wish it wasn't forced. Let us wear tabbards that flag us pvp, or something. Too many great games now are ruined my high level toons ganking pve fans out there questing and grinding

A lot of games have PvP restricted to zones.

Must list games that you have liked and did not work out later.  More info is needed to give advice.  What do you like and what games did you hate?

Most of the F2P games with PvP enabled, tend to have channels to hop between to try to avoid it. I know in Tera that is how it is. Also a lot of them have the option to play on a PvE server as well.

Well maybe that's the direct consequence of having so many WoW clones over the years.  They came out flying high but drop hard after some months.

But if your system specs are not that high, you should not be looking for a newer MMO, since very likely newer = more resource demanding.
The direct consequence of a game that was never really about world PVP, is more about superior instanced PVP, and has the option to completely disable world PVP (ie PVE server) is that clones have created unavoidable world PVP?

Your post is exactly why everything is called a WOW clone.  Regardless of any resemblance to WOW whatsoever, all games are called WOW clones.

New MMO and laptop with not so great specs probably wouldn't go together even if this mythical PVE game existed. (which it currently doesn't)

World PvP was the original primary PvP component of WoW.

The problem that you are running into OP is called "Free to Play".  See, free games, even though they make a metric crap ton of money, are under no obligation to provide you with content because you are not actually PAYING them for that service.  So what these marketing geniuses have come up with is a shell of a world where what they call "Player Generated Content" i.e. pvp, housing, and in general greed, fuel an engine of cash shop sales, the proceeds of which go towards buying the devs really fast cars, really hot chicks (as their side pieces), and a plethora of other really neat stuff.  Oh, they also put a little back into the game in the form of.....you guessed it, more stuff for you to buy in order to keep up with your friend who has just spent every day of the last month or so hammering on the game in order to get for free.

No one ever gets an edge in these kinds of games, and really, you aren't even really required to play them at all.  You can just clep your way through them with money.

So if you have a low end machine and not a lot of money you might want to forgo messing with this genre of video game all together because the minimum price for happiness around these parts lies somewhere around $14.95 a month.

Free to play is just an illusion, and not even a good one.

Play Tree of Savior https://treeofsavior.com/ . It fills all your requirements. It's a new F2P MMO, that isn't hardware intensive, and there is no world PVP.

Don't get me wrong, I hate P2W as much as the next guy, but it doesn't really bother me as much in this game since I'm not trying to compete. Just exploring the world and enjoying the ride with a few friends. Afterall, it's a korean grinding MMO; as long as you go in keeping that in mind it's not bad.
