I keep wanting to take a stab at this, but it's becoming very difficult to pull the trigger. BETA was fun, but I can see the RNG driving me absolutely mad. This is particularly bad since this is a PvP based MMO. Oh well, what's next....? Oh yea, nothing for a long time.
Honestly, the RNG is what it is, but i have said to friends (in eve) if you buy the package, then this game is value for money, if you want to min>max things then it could get very frustrating.
The game does have issues, but what 3 month old MMO doesn't. But, i would say for the price of 2 monthly subs in other games(average price) this is value for money, a lot of players who have bashed the game either haven't played it, or like this vid guy, they rushed to max then complain thats their is nothing to do.
With over a 1000 hours played (50% active time, the other AFK at sleep time to level mounts/fishing) i still have not got a toon above 44, i have found there is plenty to do, and the RNG whilst it can be an annoyance, isnt' that bad for a player like me.
But, its about what you want from an MMO, if you want one you can just pop in / out and play for couple hours, i think this game is fine, but if you want to be 'top-dog' then i can see why the complaints are coming in.
Me, im happy doing my horse breeding / fishing / farming / crafting with the occasional 3-4 hour mob grinding.
So really just try the game (7 day pass et al) ignore the doomsayers who knows you might like it.

This post is all my opinion, but I welcome debate on anything i have put, however, personal slander / name calling belongs in game where of course you're welcome to call me names im often found lounging about in EvE online.

I don't understand why it takes until months after release for experienced MMORPG players to realize how bad these cash shops are for the game. With the next game it will be the same story all over again.

Do some proper research on the monetization before you play these games and don't fall for the hype.

This guy is just an example of rushing to endgame and then complaining about being bored.

He's not even consistent.  He says he geared up his sorc to where she was ready for seiges and then afk fished FOR WEEKS because there was not much better to do.  He then complains that he never feels like he can reach the point where he's "competative" so he can "just enjoy the game" (which I guess in his case means "afk fish" because that's what he did for weeks when he had a chance to "just enjoy the game").

I'm sure he has valid points for min/maxers.  Daum holding off on +16 and seiges is certainly a problem for people at relative max right now.  But I think Daum is looking at a bigger picture (at least how they see it) and valuing keeping PVErs happy by not making them feel "locked out of content".

Eventually there will have to be a reckoning, because I'm not sure how Daum can make both hardcore PVPers and PVErs happy at the same time, but for now the game is much better suited for non min/maxers to enjoy, since there literally is nothing to do but level up and world bosses for the maxers, while the PVErs have tons to do.

Like I would even care what a kiddo youtuber is going, I don't watch any of crap like twitch/youtubers etc. Why someone with IQ below 60 think I will even bother to listen to his poor advice, huh?

So if you notice that I'm no longer answering your nonsense, stop trying... because you just joined my block list.

Here's the thing, if you want to be competitive in PVP, it's not +15ing that is difficult (RNG wise) or even getting a Witch's Earring to drop - it's Pri, Duo, and Tri accessories. To get a Duo (insert accessory here) you need a minimum of 3 of that accessory. Let's look at Witch's Earring, the cheapest last I played, at 8m (prolly has gone up) that means if RNG is on your side, you're looking at 24m alone (not including fail-stacks).

For example, I lost 50m trying to upgrade Witch's Earring to Pri (and buying replacement when it failed) and a Bares Necklace to Tri multiple times with 46+ fail-stacks. 50m was at least 25-50 hours of gameplay, all gone with nothing to show for it. That was the night I quit.

    "You don't have to Pri/Duo/Tri"
Duo Witch's Earring is 9ap, almost 2x that of a normal Witch's Earring
Now on the extreme end of the spectrum, a Tri Ogre Necklace (gambling 300m) is +15 MORE AP.

Getting your gear to +15 is whatever, getting your accessories on par is not.

This game must really suck for those who equate being "competitive in PVP" with being the first to have the best in all slots.

That's the crowd who bought the most expensive pre-orders to have a couple of extra days' head start, the ones who risk the most silver on accessory RNG, the ones who are always fretting about class balance (must all be playing rangers or sorcs), the ones who are most bothered by hackers trivializing their monumental RNG efforts...

But then again, most MMORPGs must really suck for them anyway.

Just imagine a game like BDO without the RNG gear upgrade. How would it be done? Why the traditional hidden RNG way of course, where instead of upgrading your own gear you would just have to run the same content over and over until that BIS item you're after drops and you can replace the second best BIS.

They must also dread expansions that turn their once BIS item into junk overnight...

Follow the bouncing ball of their logic and where does that take you? A game where you start at max level of the one and only class with a full BIS loadout... and then you fight and blame the server location for the extra lag that's getting you killed because for them, there would always be something external that's spoiling their fun: it's never ever something between their ears that is doing that.

The same person did this video review of Asta they didn't even get to level 50 in the video and you can tell they don't know the game because of the pros and cons at the end of it but people think that it's a good review. lol

If you want to find info on a game find someone on Twitch with not many people in the room and talk to them it's what i do there is some nice people out there who seems willing to help.

Someone offered me their 7 day pass for BDO when i went in a room to find info about the game but when i folund the witch wasn't witchy enough for me i declined the offer i still go into his room now and then.

Yep every game he reviews he compares to WoW. It's fair to say his first MMO was most likely WoW.
