Me, I play a little GW2 and some Ago of wonder 3 but I fear the game I spent most time in the last months is Caveman2Cosmos (a superb mod for CIV IV far better then CIV 5).

I also play the pen and paper game Shadowrun a lot.

I got a couple months of good fun out of FFXIV.  Definitely not a long term place, but it will tide you over for a bit.

Awesome, man! I wish I could play.. happen to live in the Portland, OR area? : P

Well not to crazy about shadowruns rules though... so many D6s.. but their setting is so awesome!

I play tabletop RPGs.. but its a game that I designed.. really cool and most realistic ruleset ever! I use old Dungeon magazines from early 80s for quests often.

We should gather all the players who are bored and find 1 game we all can start over in and play together..that would fill the void i guess

The next PVP game that comes out, probably crowfall or camelot unchained

Darkfall Rise of Agon before that.

    I kown that feeling OP.

Games I had fun with :
    - Asheron's Call 2 : have been closed and now it is back but too old and not enought players
    - Guild Wars : spent lot of time on this awsome game but it is dead by now due to the crappy gw2
    - City of Heroes : super fun but servers are closed
    - Tabula Rasa : loved that game but servers are closed too
    - Warhammer Online : my favorite game for RvR but guess what servers are closed too
    - Archlord : great game, good pvp, servers closed
    - End of nation : great mmostr, only existed in beta

Since these ones, I tried everything, spent lot of money on pre orders, kickstarters, founders packs, early access, game purchases and subscriptions but I never found a game that enjoy me as before.

You're probably beyond games and need something like mixed-martial arts, now there's a rush.

A lot of us are in the same boat as the OP. I've pretty much given up at this point but occasionally pop on and see what the talk is hoping for something. What I think a lot of people miss is the feeling of an adventure which today's candy games offer no real adventure and no real exploration. I can't even stomach most of the games today and the older games still alive have turned in candy casual crap or simply to dead and dated. Further in old games their was a feeling of real achievement and conquest which just doesn't happen when your handed gear or just grind the same boring crap daily and boom, your geared.

Its also hard to want to go back to a game you've played most all of the core content and maxed everything and to go back for the next 20 minutes of story and 5 levels... just not worth the time when in a couple days it will feel the same old crap you quit before.

Give me an old school huge world that is an adventure, exploration, and you have real options and differences. Not that crap where your guided through to max level in a day or two and then busying grinding with the rest of the lot.

I'd recommend BDO, but I see you played it and didn't find it challenging.  You can really make grinding in it as challenging as you'd like by trying to pull huge groups of mobs.  In the end it's not super challenging but I find it hard to remember an MMO with challenging PVE content.  Only thing that really comes to mind is endgame dungeons in TERA where you can easily get one shot if you're not paying full attention and reacting well for long 10 minute boss fights.

Also seiges and node wars are coming very soon so finally some meaningful pvp will happen.  Worth a second look imo.

It looks like you've played most of the higher quality MMOs.  Maybe try something else.  For all of last year I only played SMITE and Hearthstone because there wasn't an MMO worth playing imo.  It's not quite the same as an MMO but they're still online games where you interact with people, and both are pretty fun and can be played for long stretches of time pretty much indefinitely.

I got so bored I went back to SWG on the Awakening Pre-Cu Emulator server. There's nothing out there now that keeps me peeled, and I've tried everything, even korean grinders @.@.

How about trying Trade Wars (sorry, EVE.)

Hey, it entertained me briefly back in the 80s. And there isn't an Oregon Trails MMO, as far as I know.

I just went back to ESO myself and it has improved 100% from launch on the PVE side.  I can't say if they have done anything to the PVP much as I haven't done any of it yet.  It looks like the PVE side is getting even better when they launch the next set of improvements that were listed at E3 called One Tamriel.  Give it a look if you aren't playing anything else now.  Only major complaint from me right now is the stupid AH system in place now instead of World AH.

I am playing Black Desert Online. I started very recently. I have no idea about epic loot and dungeons.

I have spent more time reading up about the game than playing it initially because I was very overwhelmed with all the things that were in the game. Some one said it is not complex but just complicated. I am not really sure which it is but definitely not reading up about it would have confused me to hell and back so in my book the game does fulfil the box called interesting and intriguing.

I had so much difficulty connecting the nodes as I had gone out too far from Olvia the place I was in and started at and discovered Velia and when I tried to connect the nodes even checking out some videos it kept showing me points with nothing on the map until I went running slowly from place to place and saw each node manager. Then still they would not connect properly because there are these barren spots that looked like just wilderness and I finally figured it out the day before yesterday. That made me think that had I not even read up it would have been even worse. The game definitely does not hold your hand.

The whole adventure I call it that because I was so intrigued by the system and yes even after I figured it out I was thinking for a PvP game they sure put a lot of effort into these systems and make it worth looking into. Of course you can call it needlessly complex but having these types of things like amity you are forced to look at the world and carefully work things out. So many systems in other games do not bother with any effort to trying to do anything different. Here if you want the NPCs to give you quests you have to build a relationship by using an amity system which involves conversations with other people within the network of that NPC. It makes you take notice of the NPC itself .

The game is definitely time consuming. It's hugely so. Everything from walking ,fishing, going from place to place, gathering and whatever else I think you might have to do. There is no such thing as clicking on the map and going from one place to another or any other form of fast travel .There are weight restrictions and durability on items. I tried to do some trading with my donkey mount and sadly only could carry like two ores. It was pathetic the amount I made after making a mad dash to avoid bandits on the roads.

I recently  started to fish and was thinking it would be easy and after failing like 10 times and still occasionally failing the mini game I am not sure what to say about the game. The fact that I had to sell the fish while it was fresh made me chuckle. I guess even the crafting and I have not yet started that yet, but since you need workers and opening up workshops, food for workers and transporting raw materials from town to town I presume it is complex too (hmm I hesitate to use that word).

I have not even come to the horse breeding the boat crafting or even pet feeding and other aspects and I am noticing how engrossed I am in the game. I think I need to ration my time or else  I am going to be thoroughly addicted. So far since I am not interested in PvP I guess I am relatively insulated from the drama about cheaters but since you want to PvP you might want to see how seriously they are about their new rules on bans.

I have no idea what your void is about but if you want to check out this game you can try the trial.

Hey OP, after the/my ArcheAge desaster i felt as empty as you.
My solution to this gap was GTA 5 Online (add me :)).
Im going with a mix of GTA, Star Citizen and my guitar, closing that gap very well.

I mentioned the guitar because its another big hobby outside the cyberspace.
You propably have another hobby as well, were you aint spend enuff time into because cyberspace is eating it all :)

    1. try a different kind of game - fps, moba; something which is competitive and gives you 100% of gameplay satisfaction. or a single player game? in mmorpgs plenty of time is spend by doing daily quests, garrison quests, ships etc - you literally feel like you are working, not playing a game, this can bring you into depression and frustration

    2. find a hobby in RL (sports? gym? running? football? chess? maybe amateur porn star career?) and make more friends, so they can lure you out from home every evening.
