That looks like it's basically GP100 with the compute stuff removed. If Nvidia was planning on doing that in the first place, then why did they put fixed-function graphics stuff into GP100 at all rather than making a pure compute chip? I'm not saying that Nvidia can't do this or that plans can't change, but if they planned on launching GP102 with those specs before they taped out GP100, then someone screwed up. It's possible that this chip showed up as a reaction to Nvidia deciding that GP100 was so broken that they can't fix it well enough to make a good GeForce card. It's also possible that the rumor is flatly wrong, as a lot of random Internet rumors are.
