This could possibly be the game of the century. I just do not understand why it has had almost no discussion here. Game comes out in less than a month and its like no hype at all.
thisngame has had tons of attention for years. That is probably the issue. It launches next month and frankly, there really isn't anything more to say.

Check out IGN, they've covered the crap out of it. Even a couple of month-long specials on the game. Almost to the point of saying too much and ruining the surprise

Because its the least interesting of the current options for this style of game and yet gets the most PR.
Space Engineers, Elite Dangerous, Empyrion, StarMade and maybe even StarsOne.
fly around a huge universe you will never completely explore and land on planets? oh wow...really? already done.
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
Actually it is multiplayer. Just no group finder. You can find people and play with them, but it may take years to ever find a friend if you want to play with your friends. Some people talk about plans to find each other.
For a game thats mostly a shallow exploration sandbox game with very few features... that hype it has so far isnt bad at all. Like spanky said, there isnt much else to say about it. You travel through space, seamlessly fly into planets, explore, discover stuff, make money, leave, buy a better ship.... rinse, repeat.

Sorry to break it to you but there isnt much here in this game. billions x billions of planets but you will be lucky if you see 10 different planets. The idea of this game is good but it will get really stale fast. There isn't even coop, you will be lucky to find your friends in this game if ever and if you do there is no teaming up and trying to fight against npc fleets together.
You can't build a home base on a planet, you can't have more than one ship. If you find an awesome ship u have to let go of the one you have already.
This game has a giant "omg such a huge game" haze covering over the fact that there isnt really that much to do. Imagine if you could travel across our universe and only see the same planets in our solar system over and over again, exploring billions x billions of jupiters. You will be bored after seeing the same 10 jupiters.
The game is heading in the right direction to take games but be ready for disappointment.

what really grinds my gears is that some people act as if no other game offers the same and more.
Fly around forever in Elite Dangerous, land on planets, build a base in Space Engineers on a huge planet or out in space there are plenty of options now. they just dont get marketed out the ass
and then on top of that the same people try to suggest that its got nothing to do with marketing, that someone saw a video of a guy flying a spaceship and somehow by 'word of mouth' it ends on the Today Show or something. give me a break
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

well ,they should sold this game as MP not SP what is in descriptions ,if it is true I ll be interested in this game again but I ll wait for price drop !

I am interested by the game but I have yet to find something that is going to hook me that other games have not done better. Exploring a massively large universe is awesome and all.. for the first 4 hours. But then what? Can I ever build something that actually effects the sandbox I am playing in. I know you can discover and names undiscovered aliens and such. But what is there besides fighting pirates and exploring? And upgrading my ship / replacing my ship?
I still can't find that thing that is going to keep me coming back for more and more.. The hook.
what really grinds my gears is that some people act as if no other game offers the same and more.
Fly around forever in Elite Dangerous, land on planets...
Are you serious ?
You're trying to say landing on planets and exploring in E:D is just as good as it is in NMS ?
I guess some people might find driving around on a barren rock exciting... :surprised:
But I'd FAR rather be on NMS's planets that are teeming with life in a huge variety of shapes, sizes and colors. Not to mention caves and underwater exploration.

yeah I am going to say its BETTER
NMS looks like a big turd graphically compared to Elite Dangerous.
want to build a base on your planet, collect materials and fight creaturs? oh you cant, try Space Engineers to do that part. as well as 3 other games
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

to me its NOT an issue of 'exploring is boring' its a matter that there are currently right now about 4 games that give you the same experience.
THAT is the part that grinds my ass raw

Playing E:D is about as much fun as watching paint dry, lol
But luckily it's there as an option for those that enjoy watching paint dry...

None of those games are even comparable.
most of them are considerably better and you can do considerably more within the same context. but I bet you had no idea.
people literally saying 'oh my god you can land on planets and fly around huge universe' yeah wow...

ED looks better that NMS AND you can do more. Never mind the other 3 games I mentions which also allow you to land on planets.
NMS is literally the least attractive option of the genre

I bet you had no idea that they aren't. The closest one is a very basic minecraft in space. The rest are completely different.
You do more than landing on planets. I have no idea to what extent, and not everything has been covered about the game.
I mean, generally you could visit other planets, terraform, etc. MANY years ago in Spore.. which also was part exploration, part domination... and a bunch in between.
I know that NMS is going to be an amazing exploration game -- but a little additional motivation might not help, such as some semblance of survival.
As for the games Sean mentions... don't pay any attention to him, Elite Dangerous is a pretty terrible game, and has extremely poor reviews -- but because it's VR compatible he'll say it's the best game on the market. He doesn't even know what half the other games he mentioned have in the way of features... if you can "land on a planet" he thinks it's comparable.

There's plenty of discussion on Reddit and coverage on the "traditional" SPG game sites like IGN.
