what the heck man?

in Guild Wars

guildwars has some wierd network error!  it said that the game would be ready to play at 8:30 Pm.   According to my clock, the time is 8:57!  What the heck is with this??

guild wars needs to make sure they can keep their networks protected!

    It says 8:30 pm PST. You were looking at eastern standard time. They are three hours behind that. So at 11:30 pm EST it should be back up.

    Due to a server error, Guild Wars experienced an unintentional reset of the traders. For nearly an hour, traders were selling items at unrealistically low prices. Due to the harmful impact that such an event would cause to the game economy, we are rolling back the entire state of the game to shortly before the problem began, that is, to 1:00 p.m. Pacific Time, 21:00 GMT. We estimate that the game will be accessible at approximately 8:30 p.m. PST tonight (04:30 GMT).

    8:30 p. m. PACIFIC STANDARD TIME!

    Funny how reliant we have become on uptime. Two hours of downtime equates to their webserver at guildwars.com to be flooded with so much traffic that they wont allow their interface to show and have posted a warning.

    guild wars doesnt have much stuff ups but it does have them once in a blue moon... not even a quarter as much as wow does :P

    This was the first GW downtime, fullstop. Theyve run fine for 11months, they could have left the servers running through this error as well but people did such dmg to the economy they just rolled it back 60mins. No harm done.

    haha i love it..., I've been playing for more then 10 months now and it's the ONLY downtime that theve had and still complain about this?

    Thanks for noticing that, freakerd! I know that the down time last week was disappointing. Hey, I wanted to play too -- there were scarabs out in the Amnoon with my name on them! But you're absolutely right: In 10 months, there's been very little outage, I mean amazingly little! We will do our best to call that little burp our only ill-mannered breach of etiquette. :)

    I didn't like the fact that because of the roll back I have to re-do a quest with my ranger. It's an easy quest but it takes a while and I hate those bog skales ::::35::

    Anyway, it did give me some fun errors, I could walk to the edge of the earth because when I was playing I was disconnected but not like usually. So I only noticed any kind of problem when I tried to walk through a portal and just went straight through it and got errors saying that the game couldn't connect to the server ::::35::

    But other then this little incident I must say that Arenanet's doing one excellent job at keeping things running and everything else too for that matter ::::02::
