Blizzard are normally incredibly boastful when a game sells large numbers, often posting big numbers of Twitter within days.
With Overwatch they have been very tight lipped, this is very strange for Blizzard. Do you think the game has actually not sold that well due to the extreme lack of content?
As much as I wanted to get Overwatch, I refused to throw money at it because of how little content it has. Wondering if a lot of other people decided the same.

All I know is that I would rather have a game from the Blizzard I knew before WoW - than this game.
Blizzard need to step up their game in general, and I think this could be a wake-up call.
All imo, obviously.
Can't stand the whole RNG, Cash shop, loot box, gum ball machine that gaming is becoming. Soon it will invade the single player games, if it hasn't already.

It would be interesting to see if Overwatch is breaking new records in sales tbh, as it wouldn't surprise me at all if it has.
I find it interesting the only information we've received has been from anywhere but NA. As I said in another thread, I'm interested to see an announcement of the numbers in NA (if we get one).

So yeah if I bought it and I hate FPS it's probably doing well and it's probably getting some up sells for other games too lol.
As I say, I'm curious why they are being so quiet when it's not in their nature to be so. They are the ultimate boasters usually and it's odd they aren't doing it here.
However, it is worth mentioning that even the UK news isn't a boast from Blizzard, but reports from retailers. Which makes it doubly confusing that no NA retailers have posted any news.
There isn't really anything to aim towards as the 54 things you can unlock for each character are pretty redundant i.e. you don't use or need them to play and so they are a bit meh. If the game had goals and character progression with useful unlocks, I think I'd be more gripped. In that respect, it's like Star Wars Battlefront, i.e. lots to look at but the depth of the game is lacking.
Edit: I also meant to add that I think Blizzard is playing off hype and reputation a lot with this game because many will have bought, taking a bit of a gamble. It's not overly expensive either.
I'd respect Blizzard a lot more if they developed something that really could grip you for years, the way they did with the Starcraft phenomenon.
As long as it does well enough it should continue sell, sell DLC and cash shop stuff (cosmetic only atm but could be extra services and so forth later).
2.5M though - that would be about the same as EA gave out for SWTOR. And of course we won't know whether "selling like hot cakes" and "being number 1 in charts" equates to 2.5M, 6M or whatever. Selling a few tens of thousands can land you at number 1 - depending what else has released and what market.
