Meaningful Frame work

Meaningful Frame work, when was the last time you had this in an mmo ?

Hard choices to go along a unique path in all different ways.

It could be how you develop your character by talent's point distribution.  Do you make that Rogue a stronger fighter or more stealthy.  Do you make that Cleric more battle hardened or a pure healer that relies on a group to keep him alive........Real meaningful choices.

Button mashing.  I can't speak for everyone, but lately I'm pressing 1,2,3,4,5 in every mmo.  It doesn't matter what order, they all do the same. I guess you can say this goes along with to easy.  I would prefer sapping one to fight the other or heal three times to fight them both.  I would like to think !

Crafting and harvesting.  With the so called modern games, why even try ?  Everything is already there for you.  Seriously, why make that one handed axe and shield ?  Just advance your character to the next quest hub and that unique blue shield is waiting for you.  Who will pay for yours ?.......Think about this.  Money, with always automatically being rich, do you even realize your not doing well with crafting anything.

Starting zones.  Advanced zones.  What's with one ?  What's with liner ?.......Well, two reasons.  First and foremost is cheap, This is the real bottom line, this cant be argued.  Second is story telling.  Cinematics have no place in mmos.  This is a solo thing, it stops you from being unique.  It's an extreme bad use of resources that can be better used in any of the above !

Some say " I like personal stories "............ WHY ARE YOU PLAYING AN MMO !

A little off topic:

Graphics, were not their yet.  It's only 2016.  Development of high graphics are killing all resources on both ends, both developers and players.  It's very very hard to make an mmo.  If your such a selfish cry baby that needs extreme graphics, all I can say is screw you !

It's a fact, with high end graphics an mmo will have to be shallow.  Pick one or the other graphics or gameplay.

If you pick graphics, then get out.  Go play Fallout 4.  Leave a deep rich and interesting world to the mmo players.

Pantheon, from what I have seen, has very nice graphics. So what are you banging on about?

EQ1, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, GW, GW2 CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War,TSW and a slew of free trials and beta tests

To address your first point, by far, the choices I made during DDO character creation/development were the most meaningful choices I have ever made in an mmo as far as my individual character.
...well, until a couple expansions after release when they let you go back and redo some of your choices.  Many people had essentially "gimped" themselves early in their progression by making poor choices.

It was a lot like creating a pen and paper character.
