Crafting=Big time headache

I like the game but the crafting system gives me a headache.

I still see many players asking questions regarding what and how to work the crafting in this game.  Not only is it boring and tiresome, its a pain having to deal with everything you need and have to do in order to advance in crafting skills.

All you get per item crafted is 1 point, 1 lousy point.  Not to mention all the running around you have to do and all the junk you need to collect.  It's a very slow and tedious process.

I asked in the AA forums if players thought the crafting process was slow.  I got a ton of responses agreeing it is and clamoring for change.

I'm like many other people, I'm still not 100% on it.  I"m unsure of a few of the things you need to know.

Once the game goes live I'm actually thinking of ignoring the crafting altogether and just sell whatever items and junk I happen to collect.

So with this in mind I have a question.

How do you experiment on items?  Do you need a kit?  I'm not sure if you do but I've checked the shops/vendors and I've yet to see a kit for experimenting.

I asked this same question in those forums and didn't get an answer.  Probably those who read it didn't know either.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

    The designers posted today a bunch of things they want to improve before launch or just after launch. 2 big things are crafting and auction house. So hold on for a bit till the big overhaul.

    ^--- the experimentation section of AAVault's Crafting Guide. It's brief, but it should answer your questions on Experimentation

    Thanks for info.

    I went to the site you wrote  and read what it says about the experimenting phase.

    It says to put it in the blue box to experiment.  What blazing blue box they talking about?  I minimized it  went in game and went through it step by step and I didn't see any blue box.

    I'm not breaking my head with this crafting system this game has.  I'm just leaving it alone.  I'll sell whatever I pick up and if I fall behind becuase of lack of crafting, I'll just leave, np.

    In Galaxies you had to grind like mad to level up.  On top of that you needed to spend millions in resources.  But I'll take that crafting system over this one any day.

    This one is terrible at best.
