Fans of high seas adventure will want to take note of Rare's Sea of Thieves, a swashbuckling cooperative pirate adventure MMO. Best part is that the community will be able to create content to send merry pirates all over the high seas. During Microsoft's E3 Press Conference, viewers got a first look at game play.     I've always loved multiplayer naval combat, even though it's been quite rare in video games. This has a lot of potential just as a multiplayer game, but as an mmo with player driven content the possibilities are endless.

    Reminds me of battlefield pirates mod, hopefully there is some good sword fighting and dinghy canons.

    This has potential. As long as there is decent content and not just PvP stuff, I think this could have a wide appeal.

    Definitely looks like fun.  It seems like one of those rare games where the devs took a step back from the market pressure and decided to make something that was just "good old-fashioned fun with your friends."

    Well, their cinematic trailer contained the following, at the very least:

    Mermaids,
    Skeletons,
    Kraken,
    Sharks,
    Swimming/Diving

    So, it does seem that they have a heavy focus on lots co-op PVE content.

    A game that looks . . . fun!  If it is just that simple then a lower price will be helpful.  More developed would be great but I almost hope they keep it simple and sell tonnes of copies at a lower price.

    My momentary intrigue was quickly dashed when I discovered that it was an XBox exclusive. I haven't bought a platform in in 15 years, and I'm not going to start again now. Pity. It looks like a lot of fun.

    I didn't read anything that mentioned cross platform play, just able to play on each platform with one purchase.

    The only other game that lets you main different stations on a ship is Alods Online, correct me if I'm wrong.  The multiplayer aspect of the game alone is very appealing to me.  

    Played: E&B, SWG, Eve, WoW, COH, WAR, POTBS, AOC, LOTRO, AUTO.A, AO, FE, TR, WWII, MWO, TSW, SWTOR, GW2, NWO, WoP, RUST, LIF, SOA, MORTAL, DFUW, AA, TF, PFO, ALBO, and many many others....

    I have been following this for some time now.  I don't get hyped for games anymore, but I will certainly continue to watch it and if it looks like a fun game I will buy it.

    I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.
