For centuries, rumors have persisted that the mightiest of Shaman can abide in every age at once. Tales speak of a breed of masters who can discern the ancestry of friend or foe, wielding this knowledge to great benefit -- or frightful bane. But even a young Shaman can sense the threads of energy woven through Terminus’ past. A second sight draws them to the totems of those forsaken eons, in pursuit of furthering their rare power.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My point is, for revealing a new class, Pantheon does it with less style than any other company. Bugs me because it's one of the few MMOs I wanna play. EDIT: Thing is this is a crowd funded game. An excel sheet is more exciting than the info they have given us. IMO every bit of info should show off allot more and at the bottom should be a nice link to the fund-me page. At best this is a meh feeling.
I have to agree there. It didn't pack much of a punch. I know the classes are far from finished, so I don't expect to see a full-on gameplay trailer, but in a reveal article you would expect there to be... something substantive.
The entire article could be summed up in one sentence for what it actually says.
"We're going to have a Shaman class that can wear chains armor and cast heals and attack slows."
Lame
Agreed. Pantheon seems interesting, but there continues to a real lack of depth and detail in their announcements (and no, it's like EQ does not count). At this point in development I guess it is sort of understandable, but if they don't have at least a few details sorted out then why even bother announcing it.
YES! Attack speed slow, just what I have always wanted in an MMO.
Modern crowd funded games provide nearly real time updates on development and previously unheard of interaction with the developers and access to media clips otherwise not seen until years later in traditional development.
... and people still complain.
Just ... wow.
If mmorpg updates/news bothers you so much on a mmorpg website, I am sure in mere minutes you will get yet another MOBA or single player RPG news sample to fulfill your needs.
Now on the actual subject. This game will have classes specializing in a narrow focus. This is a core old school concept. I've stated clearly many times that I respect the shit out the original EQ concept despite being an AC player during those years. With EQNext dead, the mmorpg world NEEDS this game to succeed. I think the developers have chosen their focus and direction well. I can hardly wait to see this game take shape. Each tiny bit of news over the next couple years of development is worth analysis.
You stay sassy!
(My son speaking to his Japanese Grandmother) " Sorry Obaba, I don't speak Japanese, I only speak human."
In more modern games slows would tend to be minor things (20%, 10% , 5% even) and as a result were barely worth casting.
This does nothing to build up any interest for me. When you can't be bothered to go into more detail and depth with some actual passion behind your game and the announcement of a new class or archetype, with some skills, more than one screenshot, and a video or heaven forbid more than one video. Colour me unimpressed.
Don't expect me to get interested when you can't be bothered to do more than a Title + Screenshot and some filler text.
