Ark: Survival Evolved is proving that bigger is, if not better, then at least scarier with the arrival of the Redwoods biome that not only brings in the gigantic trees of the same name, but also the Titanosaur. Players can literally build a mobile fortress on its back as it can carry structures, defenses and even other creatures as it rumbles through the landscape looking for veggies to nom.

major fps lose to almost unplayable to most with no dev comments even acknowledging the issue. Peoples bases being destroyed and dinos because their map was highly inaccurate on what was being changed around the maps. Another win patch for wildcard yet again, these guys cant do shit right since day 1 and their game releasing on titans and 980s at 10 fps....

I have hosted a server for 6 months and have never had any issues. Fantastic game and all the free updates are incredible. In my opinion they are one of the best developers around. They could have easily taken the new map and a few new dinos and sold them as an expansion pack but instead they continue to give and give and give to the community.

They communicated the areas of the maps that would be effected weeks ago and there are way too many youtube videos out there that disprove your 10fps on a 980. You need to take a look at your ISP or your RAM before blaming these guys for your problems.

Fantastic game, hardly.  There are still major bugs they have never addressed and the new updates just added to them.  This developer has no interest in fixing game altering bugs, it is like they completely ignore their testing team if they even have one.

This game seems like a real gem, despite the naysayers. I always mean to try it but my plate is full atm.

The world in Ark looks amazing. The player character looks like a ugly ass chunk of modeling clay left in the sun too long. And those animations, what happened between the awesome environment and dinos to the damn player model? The animator/modeler just say fuck it?

Still might buy this for the wife and i to play though.

Speaking as someone who has both ran my own dedicated server as well as played on other servers, this game is not as bug populated as people say. I'm not sure if the bugs are isolated specific to their computer setup (I would say a very large amount of the time it's due to their own computer not being able to handle it at the specs that they WANT, rather than what they can handle), or it's something easily fixable.

My desktop is five years old, with an i5 2500k, 16 GB of RAM and I just recently put in a GTX 970. I reliably get 45-55 FPS on all high settings. Even on my LAPTOP, with an i5-5200U, 8GB RAM and a GeForce 940M I get a solid 30 FPS on all medium, with maybe an occasional high setting. No idea what the issue is that people with 980s get this supposed 10FPS.

This game is a builders and collectors wet dream, and it looks beautiful. Content is being added at a steady pace, and so are optimizations... even if people seem to miss them in the patch notes (I saw four lines in the patch notes yesterday dealing with optimization; people are idiots).

I very much recommend this game. You won't regret it.
