Its quite likely that a few people will buy the character boost, just to see what the game is like at that level, its by no means a fix for the game, but, more in the way of a cash grab, they need to make what money they can before the game shuts down. :o

    really?....

So basically lets skip the whole gaming experience from all the zones?- what awaste of content- why not just take down the leveling bar and that way one can level up on any zone (hence what ESO is doing).

i love wildstar-but this is just a weird desperate attempt at iam not sure what...

Because the game still has life in it.

It's not like it takes that long to get to lv50 anyway. Just play for a few weeks and you're there.

I'd say it's perfectly obvious what they are attempting here, lol

It's a "weird desperate attempt" to raise some revenue !

ANY amount will be better than nothing, I guess...

While i know the answer (money), i'd say why not just remove levels instead of boosting characters? At least its something different to get to the same goal.

At this point they are just throwing mud at the wall to see if it sticks.

Because they can't sell level-removal in a neat package.

The character-boost represents "tangible value", because without it you have to grind through all those levels. Removing the levels would remove the incentive to pay for the character-boost.

I really despise character boosts these days. A more practical approach would be removing levels altogether, but then again, they wouldn't be making money off fools who buy these boosts.

Leveling alts was one of the most fun things i enjoyed when i first started playing mmos. Now it can all be bypassed with a purchase. It just fosters terrible players, since they won't know how to play their class efficiently.

Because every feature added to a game is a desperate attempt...

Agree to some point but a lot the game is at endgame. Only part worth it not to skip content is learning to dodge or avoid. The rest of the game need to be relearn at max level.

They need to market this game more to kids than actual gamers, imo.

I know I will. Couldn't keep any interest at the lower levels, perhaps with a level boost I can explore more of the game.

Does this mean they finally given up revamping the new player experience? They spent along time on it just to offer a pay to skip all that button.

Still wishfully hoping they release a full expansion of content instead of the stream of single zones to attract old players like myself back. Already having max lvl characters, the revamping new player experience never interested me and the new daily zones only held my attention for a few days when i went back at the F2P launch (seemed the same for old guild members too).

Really needs a decent amount of new content to get me reinvested into the game and bother looking for a new group of people to bond with to do the challenging dungeons and raids.

Blizzard sells instant L90 chars and people say, "Great way to see the new content and entice new player friends to play with the vets". Carbine does it and it's a desperate attempt to make revenue.

We get it. Some people don't like the game. See the people that do, don't give a sh1t about those people. Last I checked, since the Stream release WS is hopping.

'But I queued for pvp/instance and didn't get a pop in the 10 seconds my attention span exists in...' I logged into WoW a month ago and couldn't get an instance for over an hour. That game is so dead right? FF14, 45 minute queue.

Don't like the game leave. I swear people in these threads are like diners who keep going back to the same restaurant but swear they hate the food.

    you so right.
also its good thing for second charcter because after you done it ones it can be borring and after all this game start at level 50.

people here talking about eso "removing" the levels but also forgetting one big thing:
it cost alot of money and time to do so, also eso belong to zenimax the company behind :
    id (doom and quake)
    bethseda (fallout and tes)
    dishonor and... more

Skip the tedium and get to the point - aka end game is a good option for those that don't have the time to stop and smell the flowers but have the money for the main event.
What can't we skip the tedium for free by default?

I like the games that give leveling scrolls as drops.  I can save them up and other time if I decide to start a new character I can skip most of the content I've done 9 or 10 times already.  GW2 gives people who bought HoT a free level to max boost.  The way they did it you can actually try the character and class out in a higher zone first until you decide to commit to it, great idea.  I've leveled every class to max already so I just put that away for a future alt if I decide to ever use it at all.

Yeah many games offer this. Nothing really surprising here about that offering. WOW does it. EQ2 does it. Rift does as well I think.
