There are now 3 people playing Wildstar, thats an increase of 50%, so a big success...

Icarus looks good, despite sounding like a typical korean mmo.

Good stuff. I am giving serious thought to trying out Icarus. Or making a return to Wildstar. I'll figure it out some year, haha.

Just watched this video and, since I was in one of the closed beta, I tried to log into the game but it's not allowing me entry. I guess I'll just have to wait until it goes live to the general public.

    Cerealdil.

Riders of Icarus looks like another clone fresh from the factory line... Aion, Tera, Vindictus, Cabal, Echo of Soul, etc.

    Aion is a clone?

Presumably no one plays Black Desert like we see in the video or they would not be able see their opponents for the lightshow. :)

ESO paid for name and race changes, anyone with MMO experience knows the issues these cause. Once again direction of travel; name and race plus style cash shop for now. There is a team working in ESO on the cash shop, do you think they are sitting on their hands? Next year the gameplay breaking stuff for sure.

Icarus is one of the most generic MMORPGs to be released so far.  This is 2005 level quality; terrible graphics, controls, gameplay (it's target based, cooldown based auto-attack crap) and it's run by Nexon, the most greediest, biggest pay to win F2P publisher in the west and probably in Korea.

It baffles me; actually baffles me, as to how people could enjoy, let alone defend this game.  I can only assume those that do are new to gaming.  It is objectively worse than every other game Nexon America has published.

    Uh, what?

TERA was one of the first open world action combat MMOs to come out.  Yes, it was pretty generic outside of its combat, but it was still one of the first to ever do that, and many people loved it for it.

Vindictus.. is an MMO with the single best combat system on the market.  It was back in 2010; it still is today.  It's the Dark Souls of MMOs, and no game has trumped it; not even Black Desert.

Cabal.. that's quite an old game and you can't really say it's a clone looking at its release date, as it had unique mechanics, a damn fine soundtrack and cape physics.  Extremely grindy, but it was what's now known as a "korean grinder".

Aion had flying with your own wings and aerial combat. 'nuff said.  (the most bog standard MMORPG on that list at the time)

I'll pass. It'll go completely free to play in a few months - no point dropping any real money on it.

Pretty sure it goes completely free to play, tomorrow.. Founders packs were just for exclusive items and early access.

Anyhow not to take away all the awesome comments of prejudgment above out of the picture, this is a pretty damn good game so far. I wish Black Deserts launch was this smooth, although there is still room for disaster with the first content patch this month. I was pleasantly surprised by it, and I wasn't really expecting to be.

Single-use dyes purchasable from the item shop? Does that mean we cant use the dyes weve unlocked on our cosmetic outfits? If so, thats pretty lame.

Or when players reach max level and realize its all a joke with rng crafting and upgrades.

*eye twitches*   Sorry I had an Archeage flashback.
Are you onto something or just on something?

Isn't that every mmo though? Joking aside, Icarus isn't giving me any type of "best mmo ever" type of feel, but it's definitely not the worst thing someone could pick in it's current launch status.

I'd probably recommend it over BnS and BDO right now. Which pains me to say, because I really wanted BDO to resolve their issues quicker so it could go on to bigger and better things, but the servers are dragging it through the mud.

I'm just playing it while I continue to wait patiently for CU, hopefully MJ does it right, I'm optimistic.

BDO still sucks and is way to confusing and boring to grind these farms and house shit.

Riders of icarus is just another shitty late for its time mmorpg with nothing new to see..at least not something that will make you stay there...so just ignore it and get zome zzzzzz

Division i have no clue about but i dont like the game, so i rather just avoid it.

Elder scrools online is still boring as fuck unless you have a real life friend to play the game with
or else you WILL wander around lonley and bored of doing lame as quest and craft stuff you even never will use...

Thats what i had to say about this rubbish

You know what? If you want a game that's fun to play, this game is great. Lots of polish, absolutely gorgeous and very easy to pick up. In fact I haven't had this much fun starting up an MMO since beta testing WoW.

If you're looking for the next bleeding edge MMO full of new gimmicks and features....well, keep looking.

If you want to have some fun, it's definitely worth a look at.

I love BDO but I have to agree, I find it hard to bring myself to log in. So much going on and frankly I have no clue what I'm doing half the time.

Shame because it's a gorgeous game with a lot of thought put into it.
