In my last column I discussed the new patch coming to The Elder Scrolls Online and I called it epic, despite not actually having played it. Sadly, I just never had the time to jump into the PTS and give it a shot. Well, today is the day. I am finally able to sit down and dive deep into the new changes and find out if it really is epic or if wisely chosen words make everything sounds grander than they truly are.

I completely agree with the author's opinion that ZOS are doing a great job in managing the monetization in ESO. The subscription option keeps on adding value without crippling the unsubbed player.
This one has some big changes, but nowhere near in scope, by ALL definition it is SMALL. The upgrading of DSA, the being able to trade gear in dungeons etc are welcome but the scope is far less grand then the massive retooling almost every class had a few months ago.

Wtf are you on about?
Housing in a game has never been a biggie I have my own to take care of. If its a crown item and it adds to there bank to hopefully add more content ( and come up with better racial passives) then its fine with me. If a person really wants it they will fork over and buy it
Maybe. The wtf are you on about comment however is because Housing is not yet in the game and won't be until 2017. So wtf indeed!
Whether there will be a cost remains to be seen - I think it will be part of the paid DLC rather than a baseline addition.
As for this DLC being epic simply no. Nothing wrong with it but - in big picture or in little picture changes - no. I think its fair to say that all of the 4 previous DLCs were "more epic" and had "more impact".

Please read the intent of these bonuses in the patch notes. They are just "flavor" bonuses added to each race that do not require skill points.

Yeah I agree the game actually looks better on my system than these pictures show. But then again I run a top of the line gaming only system.
I think they have done one of the best jobs I have seen yet balancing a store in a game. Nothing that really lets you have a true advantage over anyone can be bought that you can not buy in the game itself. I am all for loading the store with cosmetics only or mounts that can only be gotten there. That is the best way to bring in money for people that want something different.
The best thing in my opinion that has ever been added to this game was the crafting bag, that alone is worth a sub.
Overall they have done a very good job at turning this game around, when it launched I had high hopes that didn't quite come to fruit, but now they have pretty much done a 180 and made the game something I love to play. Still some hiccups in PVP but I play this more for the PVE.
