Just purchased the game and...

in Istaria: Chronicles of the Gifted

I don't know if I should open it!  ><

I have been reading positive and negative feedback for about a day or so now and...50 dollars is hard to come by ya know :P

I am so hesitant due to my passed experiences with SWG and EVE online.  The beta testers tore EVE online apart...yet, I still purchased the game and gave it a shot (boy what a mistake....)

I just don't want to relive the same experience....

  /sigh ...you are probably wondering what the hell am I thinking/doing (considering the fact that I went out to my local EB and purchased the game)   (if I open it, I cannot return it hehe)

I currently play DAOC...and in my opinion, ToA ruinded that game      (I also really enjoyed AC1, which was my first MMORPG)

I really enjoyed the combat system in daoc too...

 

Any suggestions?  :D                           I have SWG and EVE online sitting next to me...100 dollars worth of games down the toilet .....don't ....want......to ....lose...150 now  =/

PS:  It takes a long time for major sites(gamespot/ign/etc) to review MMORPGs....I don't really want to wait  /cry

    hey man if you dont take a changes you well never get hurt.
    but no matter what i say or anyone out there say, only you can deside if it is truely the game for you.

     you say you all ready got it,
    i say go wit hthe gut instink and try it out ..

    true 50$ is not easy to get but you saved em for this game.
    and now you gona quit on it here on the end line ?

    true $50 dollars is alot, but apperently the crafting system in Horizons is supposed to be nuts,

    even if the graphics in Horizons isnt that great, personaly i think gameplay over shadows graphics,

    i played runescape for 2 years =P. And i sympathize, i also bought SWG for $70!! and played it for a month, maybe not even....

     

    and i too am a MMORPG addict =P

    I can sympathise with you Cyphrex, I did exactly the same thing with SWG and EVE Online.

    SWG I played  for a few weeks then cancelled my account, EVE online I couldn't even bring myself to play for longer than a week (and even then it was only on and off) hoping something would happen to make me see past how shit it was and want to play it :-/ I tried out E&B too, that's crap too but not as bad as EVE.

    Wasted a lot of money on those 2 games seeing as I have to import them and pay the extra $$.

    I have horizons on preorder, should be arriving in a few days, and yes I’m also hesitant just like you are, don’t want to be severely disappointed again.

    MMORPGS I did enjoy though were: UO, EQ, DAoC, AO, AC2(but only for a few months)

    i hope you haven't bought it yet... I just installed my copy. SOOO disappointed. I was all psyched about this game. Great Concept, but it should definitely not have been released now. I just hope they can patch the heck out of it to get it to where I can stand playing it. I'm so sad... back to Galaxies and Final Fantasy XI I go... image

    I found nothing wrong with it. Great game, challenging, fun, decent graphics, great sound, easy tutorial, first 10 levels are a snap so it is easy to find your favorate class.


    Bads are the chat system. What is up with that? You need 3 windows to chat. Its ets weird sometimes. Also you cannot spec. your character, it does it for you. I think Artifact mad eit so you spec yourselves with crafted items. Also there are too many dragons....lol

    Start Dawn server, thats where I am at.

    I just purchased this game and I can't stand how you run. Sounds silly but you look like a freak on a pogo stick everytime you run somewhere.

    I just came from DAoC and so far that has the most realistic character graphics and I guess it raised the bar for the next game.

    I also hate the long paragraphs you have to read. too much reading. the fighting is very boring as well.  Two thumbs down.

    WOW, dragon empires, and Dark and light look promising.

    Very shallow, judging a game on how you run and because there is too much reading [which there isn't at all more than daoc]. A new low in mmorpg history.:::^D::
