I've been following this game for a while, got the free key from mmorpg.com, all excited logged into my account says 7 days trial, spent ages downloading the game, try to log in and it says 'you don't have access to the game.'
Put in a ticket 10 hours later nothing, check their help section, nothing, ask in their forums, nothing.
Ok so I try and buy an Explorers pack at 49.99 Euros and it wont let me buy one, I tried twice...
Sod this.

Daum has stopped accepting some forms of payment due to stolen creadit card use as they were getting slammed with chargeback fees

lol... all the botters / hackers chargebacks finally actually got to them and forced them to take action? lol

Interesting, that would definitely explain it.

Some of the replies in this thread are a prime example of why no companies make mmorpg games anymore.

Not really seeing much of the point of the original post of this thread.  I'd think more people on this site are interested in the game itself than a company's woes in accepting credit cards.

    The replies are hilarious though.

Yes but that's all part of playing the game.

Not much to say- guy can't get a trial key to work.  Can't wait more than 10 hours for a resolution.  The 6 usual guys foaming at the mouth for anything negative about the game jump on the thread.

Only real commentary is you guys trying to bash the game at any opportunity are getting really sad at this point.
  • DeltoisDeltois Member UncommonPosts: 384
Right back at ya. Although sad isn t the word I would use.

Oh they got back to me, apparently the key I got yesterday from MMORPG.com yesterday, has expired, that was a quick 7 days...

I have played a lot of games from beta to ones that have been out for years and always try to be objective, but this one is so unpolished that a given key doesn't work, forums don't communicate issues and problems are not getting solved.

Why do I need to wait 2 days for a GM/Dev to tell me I need to use paypal instead of a credit card?

Bad business practices, clearly the keys were given to bring in new players, if the keys don't work people will go, sod it and find another game that actually works as it should.

Edit: Also I'm not a guy...

Well, m'lady, I'd suggest that you do in fact sod it and find a different game.  BDO doesn't hold your hand and based on the level of frustration you've experienced before even starting the game, I kind of doubt you'll have a very good time with it.

I'm not impressed either. I did the 7 day trial as well. I managed to play a whopping 2 hours before I gave up

    My Issues (100% opinion):

    - I leveled too quickly, I was level 11 in <1 hr from just running in a straight line hitting mobs.
    - Auto-walking to quests is lazy, sometimes counter-intuitive, and un-immersive (albeit optional)
    - Questing is uninteresting and I found myself click-click-clicking through their counter-intuitive convos
    - I tracked a few kill X <mob> quests, went to the marked locations to find 0 of that mob there, several times
    - When I press escape (typical menu button) there are like 30 buttons to press (poor player experience design)
    - The combat is very face-rolly/No challenge
    - Level of Detail kept bugging out when I moved, so the whole world was constantly flickering.
    - Animations are far too gaudy/over-exaggerated
    - Gender locked classes
    - Armor models are like Diablo - they have no appearance change until you reach X level of gear
    - Work Experience or whatever it is called

Some things I liked (100% opinion)

    - Skill advancement
    - Combat combos using directional keys + input
    - Character creation
    - World Design
    - Fog of War on map

Reading all the other comments about the game above, I will certainly say sod it and take my cash elsewhere, after all if they cant get the basics right the games not going to be worth my attention.

This is a ridiculous thread and judgement call based on your issues, and actual time spent on playing the game. Threads like this spew hatred and naysayers. Come on people let's be above this stupid quibbling.

Come on Holden. It's a 2 way street. With regard to foaming at the mouth, I think you fit that description yourself when it comes to White Knighting for BDO. Not only that, I've seen you recently in other threads criticizing other games. While valid, the criticisms were your opinion. I can't even say I disagreed with them. But, when it comes to BDO, the rights and privileges to express opinions change. What makes you better, that you can criticize one game, and then criticize who ever criticizes BDO?

Keys are pretty available at this point.  I bet you can get another one pretty easily.
