Cashing in on Pokemon GO: People Selling Accounts and More

maskedweaselmaskedweasel Member LegendaryPosts: 12,197
Pokemon Go accounts are starting to sell online for a LOT of money.  Some accounts even going for thousands.

Just like with how some gamers will powerlevel characters in MMOs and sell their accounts,  Pokemon Go players are now doing the same thing.. I guess so that they'll have the upper hand during Gym Battles.

There are also trainer services and people you can pay to drive you around to play pokemon go.

An article on it below:

http://gizmodo.com/people-are-auctioning-off-their-pokemon-go-accounts-1783902761

"Everyone rolled their eyes at those people willing to pay to be driven around to catch Pokémon. That was only the beginning. Laziness has reached a new level as people who want to play (but also not really) are paying thousands of dollars to buy Pokémon Go accounts on eBay.

One user auctioned off his account for $1,500. This entrepreneur, a “broke college student” made the apparently convincing case that he had worked “tirelessly” to build up his account, which then “makes this a whole lot easier for you!” The level-21 account has 160 gold coins, 27 hyper potions, and “even Magikarps”!"

The funny thing about the above, is a level 21 account is fairly easy to achieve in a week or two.. and those gold coins are paltry in comparison to what people could have gotten for their 1500 dollars.

There are several hacks out there already.  Some simple.. like "putting your phone on a record player and letting it spin around to hatch eggs faster"  and some complex, like rooting your phone and installing apps that let you spoof your GPS location.

Then of course the other hacking attempts,  like DDOS attacks on servers and trying to break in and get google account information.

I mean, it's the biggest game on the planet for the moment,  more than likely if you can think it, people are already trying to try it.

That's actually working? Thought the 12" diameter of a turntable was too small to pull that off. Lets give it a go and see if it actually works...

Let me know how it goes for you haha,  I'm just passing along what people said is working for them.

I was at a park last night and several people from my team (Valor) saw that I was taking a gym and we all got together and hung out the rest of the evening.  They told me about these things they've tried that worked for them.  I haven't tested it yet.
