    For me it was Xyson.

Not the most unique game just the most unique MMO that I personally have played which in all honesty in the MMO space really isnt that large of a list

Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

Please do not respond to me

I tried this years ago, but really wasn't much of a game then but it sure was "raw".

At its time .. Asherons Call really was unique in so many ways , and still is today in some ...

Anarchy Online again still is today ...

and you would have to Put Eve in this catergory ..

Ha ha.  If I had to say EO copied anything or had a precursor it would be this:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empire_(PLATO)

Looking back at all the MMOs you have played over the years
what stands out as being the most unique?
    Like a Ryzom or Wakfu
Something is unique or it is not. There are no degrees, to be unique is to be one of a kind. For something to be part of a collection, a genre or a category tells you that it is not unique.

For me I liked The Secret World overall.  I also like some of the other responses in here as well.

I think Pokemon Go is the most unique. People are dying to play this game literally.

Of course I'm just kidding and I apologize if I offended anyone.

The most UNIQUE mmo I've ever played would have to be, Star Wars Galaxies. No other game has come close.

You kind of lose your "most unique" cred when using a 10 billion dollar franchise as your setting.

    Just sayin'.

It be a few for me (I'll take unique as odd ones): Ryzom, Salem, Battleground Europe WWII online, EVE, Face of Mankind, SWG (that crafting/resource system that I so miss).

    I'm sure I'm forgetting a few that deserve a mention. :)

Yeah to pick just one from that list is already too hard xD

Wushu was unique and I didn't like it.

Take away the fact it was Star Wars and you have a very unique game... until the NGE.

The profession system was pretty damned unique.  While it had serious balancing issues the crafting system was somewhat realistic and different.

And then throw in the fact that they forced you into being part of the community by only allowing one character per server per account and you had a unique game.  No two servers were alike as they each had different player towns, the economies were VASTLY different, and the well known players of each server were different.

If you played SWG and stayed on one server primarily, you knew who the best armor and weapon crafters on your server were.  You also knew who had reputations as cheaters and assholes.  You know who was considered the best in PvP.

SWG was a pretty unique experience and one I wish I could find a repeat of.  Eve is about the only game that comes close.

Most unique mmo I have ever played was Saga of Ryzom.  I have yet to find another mmo with as much charm and intelligence as Ryzom had.

SWG, still not anything like it. Beside that a game called, You know I cant even remember its name lol. I think i was ever something, and not quest. It was with these frog people, and you got a jet pack, and you could either use melee or a gun in first person shooter, damn I wish i remembered the name lol.

A tale in the desert and Trove for me
Tale of the desert is unique, but Trove to me is copying many aspects of Minecraft. I know it's a voxel game but there is no doubt in my mind it is trying to be another alternative to Minecraft. I can respect your opinion about it, but I don't necessarily agree with it.

Not the most original, but Mabinogi was a game I really enjoyed years ago before it really started declining. Despite having a tab-target combat system at its core, the combat wasn't simply rolling your fingers across the keyboard until something dies like some games(looking at you, basically every WoW clone). Even a basic attack interrupted whatever the enemy was doing and all these skills had different interactions or counters, which to me made it one of the few MMO's I've legitimately enjoyed PvP in.
