About character animation and graphics in general

Been reading a lot of good things about DAoC and thought I'd give it a try, not sure if I missed some part in the guide where you get the catacombs graphic update... or then the reality is that the characters really are that stiff as they run. Also, are the old looking graphics present just in the older parts of the game and change in the new areas of the game, dungeons for example or do I get what I see. Now I'm not one for eye candy, but just asking since the scenery and models look quite different in the screenshots I've seen.

If you're running the free trial, which I'm assuming that you are, read the sticky at the top of this forum on how to update the graphics.

Well, guess I'll go over it again. Go ahead momo, lol all you want, but you have to admit the "I soiled myself" animations look a bit disturbing...

Considering that the game is around 5 years old it's no wonder that some aspects of the game still harbor the original look to it.  Aside from the movement animations, which yes there is something non-fluid about their run/walk animations, and a few minor bugs the overall game is rather solid.  Overall graphics have improved with each expansion though it would be nice to see better terrain graphics for the main lands to bring them in line with what the current engine can handle.  Incidentally it seems that the upcoming publish will address some of the main land looks and abilities which will hopefully give the game's original area(s) some much needed graphical love.

I always thought that the combat animations in DAoC were the best. But that's just me. hehe.
