Looking for a MMO where the BiS gear doesn't get out-dated, or they last a really long time.

I'm looking to play a MMO where, if I spend the time to get the Best In Slot Gear, I want them to be good for a really long time.

But it seems like all the MMO's on the market these days, the gear only lasts for 3 - 4 months, then they become out-dated because new gear gets released with patches.

Because I enjoy playing games, but I also don't have the time to invest into continued grinding.

Thanks.

I already pay Eve Online btw.

GW2 is all about horizontal progression. Totally different game than EVE, as it is very casual friendly, but worth a look if you don't want to be on the gear treadmill forever.

How about Blade & Soul, is that a gear treadmill game? Or are you good for a long time if you get the BiS gear?

Yeah gw2 is where its at.  Level up don't spend any karma.  Save it until 80.  I know you'll see fancy karma vendors as you level... don't bother.  You can purchase better gear off the black lion trading co. for a few silvers.  Get to 80 and run some karma trains in cursed shore and you'll be able to buy a whole set of exotic armor.

Besides that.... if you purchase heart of thorns they give you a free boom you're 80th level with free hand out exotics of your choise based on build...

For Blade & Soul it depends on how fast you can get the BiS, but it's basically a treadmill. It's good until the next patch. If that takes a few months, you are good a few months. If they release it the day after you got your current gear, well..

I'll wait to the day's end when the moon is high
And then I'll rise with the tide with a lust for life, I'll
Amass an army, and we'll harness a horde
And then we'll limp across the land until we stand at the shore

If the problem is that you don't like continued grinding, how about looking for a game where you don't have to grind much to get best in slot gear in the first place?

If there is a Best of slot ,then you are playing a poorly designed game.

Your gear should be changeable and REASON to change it,depending on what you fight.
Instead what i have seen are developers just creating loot treadmills, come buy our next expansion and get said best of gear in said raid.WTF kind of lazy mickey mouse game design is that.
That is why i am not playing a single mmorpg right now,all the developers and system designers are big time amateur hour, they wouldn't have a clue if it hit them in the head.
I am at this point, given how much time i have watched poorly designed games,of no doubt what so ever that some 14 year old kid could come up with better game design ideas than these million dollar suits.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Not sure if the game has changed in this way, but I believe ESO still lets you craft gear that can match - or even outperform - the best dropped loot.

It does take a good amount of grinding to max out crafting, but once you're there - your gear should last for a very long time.

Also, unlike GW2 - ESO has a great story and it understands that the majority of MMO players really do enjoy vertical progression even if some are in denial about it :)
