Cata, MoP, WoD, Legion is shaping up to be the revival we've been waiting for.
    See you in game.

Nobody thought something like that for the Cataclysm because Wotlk already was a good and hugely succesful expansion. Mop was a very good expansion which highly uderrated just because of the pandarens. The only bad thing about Mop that I can think of was that 14 months wihout content before Wod. Which they explained why they do that with Mop and Wod and why that was a huge mistake. I can only agree with the WoD which is the worst expansion till now. I played Legion for months on the alpha and the beta. Legion has more content on the release then Wod has right now. Everything is on point till now. I'm not saying that you have to buy the expansion right now but you know you can be less negative about it till you see how it is. It's not that hard really. People think they have only 2 chohices when it's come to WoW.

    1. You have to pre-purchase it no matter what
    2. You have to pass it and won't buy it ever.

Well you know you have one more choice too.

    3. Wait for the expansion to release then see other peoples reactions and read how they like it or not than decide that you should buy it or not.

    It's not that hard really...

Wait, Legion costs $50? Wow. (pun optional)
Yikes. For a 12 year old game that's a bit high.
It is for an expansion to a 12 year old games so it isn't that bad. Still, people were complaining that the first GW2 expansion cost that much as well so I would be surprised if no-one complained. MMO expansions did cost around $30 for a long time but I guess it have changed now.
Blizzard's games and expansions have always been pricey. It's because they know they can get away with it. Reputation for producing quality games + a huge, loyal fanbase.

Option 4, skip the expansion entirely and get it for free next expansion cycle if you're still into wow.

5 years of not spending a dime on MMO's and you decide to buy a warcraft expansion.  You really missed something here.
Are you onto something or just on something?

What can you do in WoW Legion besides Raiding and PvP? Serious question. :D

Mythic+ dungeons : Basically greater rifts from Diablo 3
World quests : It is a mix from Guild Wars 2 world events + Diablo 3 bounty quests
Class quests : Every class has its own class quest line aside from artifact quests
World bosses : New maps are full of world bosses
Legendary items : Legendary items are now class specific and very rare world drops. Each legendary item has unique effects instead of generic bonus stats like mastery or haste. Again a lot like the legendary items from Diablo 3
Artifact Power : Every artifact weapon has its own talent tree which you have to farm artifact power to unlock those talents.
Suramar : Suramar is the new end game zone which is a lot different from old end game zones. Suramar focuses on storytelling rather than gear rewards. And it is by far the BEST ZONE in WoW since ever.
New Transmog System : Great new feature. Even on the pre patch I'm trying to collect all the skins I can get which is very enjoyable if you like collecting things.
New proffesion revamp : All professions are greatly improved on Legion. Almost every proffession has its own mount to get. And crafting is useful and enjoyable again.

Well these are the things I can think of instantly. If I try a little more I can write as many more things to do.

And  don't forget the new pvp revamp. In my opinion Legion has the best instanced pvp from any expansion.

And let me ask you too what can you do in other mmos other then end game gear/skin farming or pvp?

Dayum. That's actually a pretty impressive list.
They went back to their roots and borrowed some of the best features of other MMOs again.

@Scorchien you are welcome, and I like to thank you for putting your $ to improve the game I've enjoyed through the decade.

@Octagon7711 good luck with Marvel Heroes. It was one of my top 3 games through these last two years.

    Thanks I love that game.

There were many reasons that played a factor in buying Legion from how familiar I'm with it to the mass currency I've gained slowly these years (although WoD fked that for me and my gold worth less now and the many bots) to the lack of anything interesting in this genre for me for the foreseeable future, most likely until late 2017. All the games that were helping me kill time, that void I had to fill to rotate through them, all of them kinda went stale as they lacked the updates necessary or the direction they were heading (Yea, I'm talking about Marvel Heroes, Path of Exile, some private server MMO, and CS 1.6 the server only has players until afternoon due to being European).

Most importantly why WOW is best for me is because I'll be within a community and playing it continuously for hours either by raiding within a guild, preparing for raiding or doing competitive PvP like a real MMO. I won't be at a time when I'll be like what do I do now? unless there is literally no people to PvP with or guild to get into for raiding which I doubt it will happen, especially how cross realm works great now.

WOW is not for all that's for sure. It takes a lot of pressure to adjust to all kinds of communities you'll run into. Many are hostile, immature and can be detrimental to most individuals. Certain guilds can make you feel rage within from the slacking and carelessly, the afking, disconnects, not showing up on schedule and so forth.

All in all as I gamer I can enjoy WOW for what it offers and I can see its value vs everything else I've been familiar with to justify opening my wallet. There has been players who I've disliked a lot and players I've enjoyed playing and I believe this is the standard for multiplayer games where you encounter large poll of different players.

Couple of close friends I played Wow long ago with are back and want me to play so I'll see how the game has shaped up. Time will tell how long it manages to keep our interest.

I took my wife on a trip by the coast today with bikes. It was real hot day and at the end we sat down in one of the places by the sea and ordered us iced coffees. Well that chilled and sweet joy cost us 10€ flat.

45€ + sub will net me at least 2-3 mo. of fun if not more in Legion given what goals I've set up for myself.

However it's not all about the money now is it you cannot look at everything through the money riiiiight?

Guys it's time to come up with better excuses. WoW is like a billion miles from perfect game but compared to what's on the market and what's in production still it's also a billion miles ahead the competition.

Many real life friends and family all buying in. It's the only game that so many of us together play and can enjoy.

Just hoping they did a great job with this Xpac this time.

I'm wondering how this could possibly be as good as they say it will be. I'm trying it out but I thought Draenor and MOP worlds were well done. Definitely not liking what they did to shadow priest.

Wow, 5 years record of "not-friggin-spendin'-ma-moneh" has been broken!
WoW wasn't part of his 5 year drought... he always bought the WoW expansions... he claims that he hasn't  opened his wallet up for new games... WoW expansions aren't considered *new games* to him.
