It would be really nice if Bethesda would use their hundreds of millions in cash from their past few hits to remake Morrowind with new graphics. Maybe replace their aging and dying Creation engine while they're at it.
Essentially do what Activision did for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and give it a seriously good looking facelift.
I think this project is not about graphics (there's SkyWind for that), and not about the modding since the original game was already pretty much moddable. The main strength of OpenMW is being cross-platform (you can play Morrowind on Linux right now too, but it's clunky), and as a free project it's independent of Bethesda, so you can build anything on top of Morrowind if you like, you have much more options than simple modding. I hope they will be successful, Morrowind is my favourite ES

I honestly rather have them remake Daggerfall then. But the time for that might not be just yet, there are several experimental AIs to build dungeons and terrain in the work and it might be worth waiting for one to be complete.
I have to admit that Skywind seems more interesting to me at the time then OM.
