With Mass Effect Andromeda a no-show at this year's Gamescom, Game Informer cornered EA's Executive Vice President Patrick Soderlund to ask about the possibility of remastered games in general and about a remastered version of the Mass Effect Trilogy. While not confirming it absolutely, Soderlund strongly hinted that this is something that EA and Bioware are considering which is definitely great news for fans.

I'd play it in a heartbeat and spend good money on a remastered version.

My prediction: Mass Effect Andromeda will come out in Q4 2017 with this new remastered ME Trilogy coming out in Q1 or Q2 2017 to soothe the savage feelings of an ME:A delay. :D

I am shocked that ME Andromeda is a now show at Gamescom. I was expecting solid info and gameplay show.

Did Bioware provide any reasons for not showing ME at Gamescom ?

Perhaps if they engineered it to play as good as ME3 I would consider buying ME 1 & 2 as a remake, after seeing how well it was done.

Basically looking at a facelift and 2 and 3 aren't really old enough to need one. The first ME could probably benefit from a graphics overhaul but personally I wouldn't bother with remastered versions.

I just DL texture packs and mod the games, one big advantage of playing on PC.

That avatar though. Not sure about the delay, think the game will launch in March 2017

I'm not going to kid myself and deny I'd be intrigued, but I really don't think it's necessary for these games. Maybe in 5-10 years or so, though.

Aren't really needed for PC versions as there are texture packs for that platform available so it can be modded. I don't own a console so no for me, unless there was a really compelling reason to do so.

I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.

Assuming they don't mess up, i'd wait for the remastered version if i hadn't played it. I see no reason to buy any remastered version so far when i played the original. Especially not if it's simply a visual overhaul.

If they make three games as one game on ME3 engine, with story, all DLC's etc. as one big campaign - yes.

If they make something like Bioshock Remastered Trilogy - no.

You know what, the EA touch is just poison to this industry.  Mass Effect is on sale on steam this week, but guess what, the digital deluxe version has no DLC and you cannot buy it on steam, you have to go to an EA website to buy any of it.

Far as I am concerned way to screw up a good game EA!!!!

Redo the last third of the game and get rid of the ridiculous contrivance which is the crucible, and I'd consider buying it. ME3's story took 90% of the content from the first two and threw it in the trash. The only thing it got right was the characters; the rest was shite.
